Este gran videojuego fue desarrollado por la empresa <b>Blizzard Entertainment</b> en el año 2002 como la continuación de una saga que llevaba hasta la fecha <b>dos partes</b> que se basaban en la historia <b>épica medieval</b> de un conflicto armado entre dos razas que habitan la tierra, como lo son los <b>humanos</b> y los <b>orcos</b>.

Estas primeras entregas de la saga fueron videojuegos desarrollados para consolas como el <b>PlayStation</b> (PSX), las PC de aquél entonces (posiblemente con procesadores <b>Pentium IV</b> (sí, estamos viejos)) y demás. La lógica del juego era la misma: <b>crear una aldea</b> al mejor estilo de videojuegos como <b>Age Of Empires</b> donde tenías aldeanos que creaban edificios, recolectaban recursos y demás, luego <b>crear un ejército</b> que te iba a ayudar a asediar otras aldeas y destruir a tus enemigos.

Claro está, que a medida que avanzaba la saga, se añadían algunos elementos adicionales que volvían esta historia más enriquecida y atractiva para los jugadores.

These first games of the saga were videogames developed for consoles such as the <b>PlayStation</b> (PSX), the PCs of that time (possibly with <b>Pentium IV</b> processors (yes, we are old guys)) and so on. The logic of the game was the same: <b>create a village</b> with the same style of video games like <b>Age Of Empires</b> where you had villagers who created buildings, collected resources and so on, then <b>create an army</b> that was going to help you besiege other villages and destroy your enemies.

Of course, as the series progressed, added some additional elements that made this story more awesome and attractive for players.

La historia de <b>Warcraft III: Reign Of Chaos</b> se basa en un personaje conocido como <b>Arthas</b>; este es un príncipe de la ciudad principal de los <b>Humanos</b> conocida como <b>Lordaeron</b>. En la campaña de los humanos en esta primera entrega de la tercera parte de la saga (hablaremos de la expansión en un próximo post), la historia comienza continuando la eterna batalla entre los humanos y los orcos.

<b>Arthas</b> debe acompañar a un paladín que está al mando como su superior en sus aventuras conocido como <b>Uther</b>; este va enseñándole el camino del paladín a Arthas, además de acompañarlo en sus ataques contra los clanes de los orcos que aún restan por la zona. Este entra en un conflicto consigo mismo por sus ánsias de poder para destruir a los orcos, y termina enfrentándose a un enemigo mayor que lo hará caer en la tentación del poder y lo hará traicionar a su propia gente.

A pesar de que este comienza siendo el foco principal, este juego basa su historia en las <b>nuevas razas</b> que se agregan con la llegada de esta nueva era en la saga de <b>Warcraft</b> como lo son los <b>Undead (Muertos Vivientes)</b> y los <b>Night Elf (Elfos Nocturnos)</b>.

Si jugamos el prólogo, este además de enseñarnos los primeros pasos de este juego, también da una pequeña introducción a la historia del juego con un personaje que se volverá muy importante un poco más adelante, luego de que se cumpla la primera gran historia del juego como lo es la de <b>Arthas</b>; en este prólogo conocemos a <b>Thrall</b>, un jefe orco que se encuentra muy confundido a raíz de una visión que tuvo en el que un emisario conocido como <b>Medivh</b> le cuenta sobre una profecía en la cual él deberá luchar contra <b>La Horda</b> y unir fuerzas con los humanos para poder acabar con un mal mayor (El Azote (la llegada de los Muertos Vivientes)).

Las campañas se desenvuelven en esta historia; todo gira en torno de la llegada de <b>El Azote</b> de los <b>Muertos Vivientes</b> y un nuevo actor en esta que está por encima de todos: <b>The Lich King</b> (El Rey Lich)</b> el cual se irá revelando a medida que se avance en la historia.

The story of <b>Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos</b> is based on a character known as <b>Arthas</b>; This is a prince of the main city of the <b>Human</b> known as <b>Lordaeron</b>. In the human's campaign, in this first game of the third part of the saga (I'll talk about the expansion in a next post), the story begins continuing the eternal battle between humans and orcs.

<b>Arthas</b> must accompany a paladin who's in command as his superior in his adventures known as <b>Uther</b>; He's teaching the path of the paladin to Arthas, in addition to accompanying him in his attacks against the clans of the orcs that still remain in the area. Arthas then enters into a conflict with himself for his power to destroy the orcs, and ends up facing a greater enemy that will make him fall into the temptation of power and will betray his own people.

Although this begins being the main focus, this game bases its history on the <b>new races</b> that are added with the arrival of this new era in the <b>Warcraft</b> saga as they are the <b>Undead</b> and the <b>Night Elf</b>.

If we play the prologue, in addition to teaching the first steps of this game, also gives a brief introduction to the history of the game with a character that will become very important a little later, after the first great story of the game is fulfilled as it is <b>Arthas</b>; in this prologue we know <b>Thrall</b>, an orc chief who's very confused by a vision he had in which an emissary known as <b>Medivh</b> tells him about a prophecy in which he must fight against <b>The Horde</b> and join forces with humans to be able to end a greater evil (The Scourge (the arrival of the Undead)).

Campaigns unfold in this story; everything revolves around the arrival of <b>The Scourge</b> of the <b>Undead</b> and a new actor in this one that is above all: <b>The Lich King</b> which will be revealed as the story progresses.

El <em>gameplay</em> en esta continuación de la saga evolucionó de una manera increíble, pues, comenzó a utilizar tecnología <b>3D</b> en el modo de juego, cosa que no se veía en los estilos de los juegos anteriores. Sin embargo, la lógica se preservó, las mismas mecánicas de obtención de recursos, construcción y creación de ejércitos.

Por supuesto, una de las variaciones fue la llegada (con un poco más de protagonismo) de los <b>Héroes</b>, los cuales son campeones con habilidades especiales que podían ser un factor muy determinante al momento de vencer o no en una batalla, además, también se añadieron nuevos edificios y unidades para hacer el juego aún más personalizado.

La interfaz del usuario cambió muchísimo también, ahora podías escuchar las voces de los personajes al hacerles click, lo que aumentaba la interacción y el envolvimiento del jugador en el juego y por supuesto, las peleas mejoraron muchísimo con la llegada de nuevas animaciones para los ataques. Sin lugar a dudas, una genialidad total.

The gameplay in this continuation of the saga evolved in an incredible way, then, it began to use <b>3D</b> technology in the game mode, something that wasn't seen within the style of the previous games. However, the logic was preserved, the same mechanics of obtaining resources, construction and creation of armies.

Of course, one of the variations was the arrival (with a little more prominence) of the <b>Heroes</b>, which are champions with special abilities that could be a very important factor when winning or not in a battle, in addition, new buildings and units were added to make the game even more personalized.

The user interface changed a lot too, now you could hear the voices of the characters clicking them, which increased the interaction and the player's involvement within the game and of course, the fights improved a lot with the arrival of new animations for the attacks. Without a doubt, a total genius.

Entre las campañas que tenemos disponibles para el juego tenemos:

* <b>El Éxodo de la Horda (Campaña Prólogo)</b>: En esta campaña se enfocan en enseñarnos las mecánicas básicas del juego y nos comienzan a adentrar en la historia, dándonos a conocer a <b>Thrall</b> y a <b>Medivh</b>. Posee <b>5 capítulos y 1 cinemática</b>.

* <b>El Azote de Lordaeron (Campaña Humanos)</b>: En esta campaña comienza la historia de <b>Arthas</b>, su eterno conflicto contra los <b>Orcos</b> y su mala toma de decisiones al enfrentarse a un nuevo enemigo como lo es <b>El Azote</b> de los <b>Muertos Vivientes</b>. Consta de <b>9 capítulos, 3 interludios (vídeos in-game) y 2 cinemáticas</b>.

* <b>La Senda de los Malditos (Campaña Muertos Vivientes)</b>: Con la traición de <b>Arthas</b> a su gente por culpa de la espada conocida como <b>Frostmourne</b> comienza una nueva era en la saga de <b>Warcraft</b>; empieza la campaña con un Arthas consumido por el poder de la espada y siendo este el nuevo líder del Azote de los Muertos Vivientes, además de ser el emisario encomendado a traer de regreso al <b>Rey Lich</b>.

* <b>La Invasión de Kalimdor (Campaña Orcos)</b>: En esta campaña, comienza la verdadera historia de <b>Thrall</b>, nos adentramos en la historia de los Orcos y el cómo lidian contra esta primera advertencia de <b>Medivh</b>. Empezamos a conocer algunos protagonistas secundarios como <b>Kairne</b> quienes empiezan a dar algunos datos importantes en la historia como la llegada de la <b>Legión de Fuego</b> y su papel en la historia. Además, vemos como los Orcos se dividen en dos especies luego de la llegada de <b>El Azote</b>, pues la corrupción del poder de la <b>Legión de Fuego</b> los transforma totalmente (inclusive les cambia la piel de color a rojo), con un protagonista conocido como <b>Grom Hellscream</b> liderando este nuevo clan. Esta campaña posee <b>8 capítulos, 2 interludios (in-game) y 1 cinemática</b>.

* <b>El Fin de la Eternidad (Campaña Elfos Nocturnos)</b>: En esta campaña, empiezan a abrir paso a la historia a la que se le dará continuidad en la expansión de este juego (detalles en un próximo post), pues conocemos a un protagonista conocido como <b>Illidan</b>, sin embargo, el foco principal está en la líder de las arqueras elfas conocidas como <b>Tyrande</b>; por su parte, Illidan es un elfo viviente cazador de demonios que tiene ánsias de poder increíbles y que, tras la llegada de <b>Archimonde</b> (demonio invocado al final de la campaña de los Muertos Vivientes) se ve tentado a poseer su poder luego de derrotarlo en la <b>batalla del Gran Árbol de la Vida</b> con los nuevos poderes que había adquirido. Esta campaña se basa en cómo llegan los elfos nocturnos hasta este punto, paseando por conflictos al combatir contra la nueva alianza entre Orcos y Humanos, hasta el combate final contra <b>El Azote</b>. Esta campaña posee <b>7 capítulos, 1 interludio (in-game) y 1 cinemática</b>.

Among the campaigns that we have available for the game we have:

* <b>The Exodus of the Horde (Campaign Prologue)</b>: In this campaign they focus on teaching us the basic mechanics of the game and they begin to delve into the story, letting us know <b>Thrall</b> already <b>Medivh</b>. It has <b>5 chapters and 1 cinematic</b>.

* <b>Path of the Damned (Undead Campaign)</b>: With the betrayal of <b>Arthas</b> to their people because of the sword known as <b>Frostmourne</b>, a new era in the <b>Warcraft</b> saga start; the campaign with an Arthas consumed by the power of the sword and being this the new leader of the Scourge of the Undead, besides being the emissary entrusted to bring back the <b>Lich King</b>.

* <b>The Invasion of Kalimdor (Orc Campaign)</b>: In this campaign, the real story of <b>Thrall</b> begins, we go into the history of the Orcs and how they deal with this first <b>Medivh</b>'s warning. We started to know some secondary characters like <b>Kairne</b> who began to give some important data in history as the arrival of the <b>Legion of Fire</b> and its role within the history. In addition, we see how the Orcs are divided into two species after the arrival of <b>The Scourge</b> because the corruption of the power of the <b>Legion of Fire</b> transforms them totally (including changing their skin color to red), with a protagonist known as <b>Grom Hellscream</b> leading this new clan. This campaign has <b>8 episodes, 2 interludes (in-game) and 1 cinematic</b>.


* <b>Eternity's End (Night Elf Campaign)</b>: In this campaign, they begin to tell us about the story that will give continuity in the expansion of this game (details in an upcoming post) , within this campaign we know a protagonist called <b>Illidan</b>, however, the main focus is on the leader of the elven archers known as <b>Tyrande</b>; Illidan, on the other hand, is a living elf and demon hunter who has incredible power ambitions and who, after the arrival of <b>Archimonde</b> (demon summoned at the end of the campaign of the Undead) is tempted to possess his power after defeating him in the <b>battle of the Great Tree of Life</b> with the new powers he had acquired. This campaign is based on how the night elves get to this point, walking through conflicts when fighting against the new alliance between Orcs and Humans, until the final combat against <b>The Scourge</b>. This campaign has <b>7 chapters, 1 interlude (in-game) and 1 cinematic</b>.

Es una buena ida al pasado, y (en lo personal) pasar las campañas desde cero en la mayor dificultad es un reto muy épico a pesar de ser un juego bastante viejo, sigue siendo bastante desafiante e interesante.

It's a good game to go to the past, and (personally) to spend the campaigns from the beginning in the hardest difficult is a very epic challenge despite being a pretty old game, it's still quite challenging and interesting.
