You should be on the comedyopenmic tag because you are funny.

You might not think that you're funny. 

You may be nervous that no one will vote for your jokes or say nice things.

Maybe you think you're a pretty funny gal/guy but "funny writing" or "funny Dtube videos"aren't your thing.

You might even think that there's *no way* you would end up winning any of the prizes because there's just too many funny people out there who understand how "funny" works better than you.

You're wrong about all of those things.

And I have definitive proof.

As of right now, a post of mine is incomprehensibly--and undeservedly--second from the top of the "trending" page for this tag.

But here's the thing: 

**Everything else I have read with the comedyopenmic tag is, quite literally, immeasurably funnier than what I wrote.**

My writing is at a level of humor that, at best, should make you go "Huh. That's a thing."

Really though. 

I'm incapable of writing, saying, or doing anything that's "supposed" to be funny. You can review my old posts. I write poetry with dozens of footnotes. I write monologues about broccoli. (There's no joke in there. That's literally what it is. Go see for yourself). I stay up all night writing economic critiques so laden with clunky monotonous jargon that even I find it too boring to go back and read what I wrote.

So there is only one explanation for this.

Not enough of you people are involved with the Comedy Open Mic tag.

And you're letting me get away with doing well in a comedy competition without being the least bit comedic.

If more people (I really do mean *you*) would head over there and vote on the content you found funny, then the pity votes given to me by the unusually nice people currently browsing the tag wouldn't be anything but small sympathy points compared to the gigantic heaps of SBD the *actually* funny people would be earning.

And even better if you enter the contest yourself by spending, like, seventeen-seconds tops to post something that will be exponentially funnier than me.

Trust me, I'm phoning all of this in. Most of it's just me waiting for the zolpidem to kick in and then mashing my fingers against the keyboard until it seems like I've written actual words and sentences.

You *are* funny.

And at the very least, you are a lot funnier than me, without even trying. You could easily win the money prize, but more important, you will definitively win the admiration of a group of ladies and men who aren't trying to rip out each others' throats because "FOMO" and "scamcoins" and whatever. 

It's just a bunch of people that like to laugh and try to make other people giggle a little bit too.

You have no idea how much us people on ComedyOpenMic laugh each and every time anyone mentions genitals.
