Una joven pareja se encuentra en una bahía, un puerto bastante bonito a donde se subirán a un gran barco. Ella prende un cigarro y su novio le específica que no debería hacerlo más, no por las múltiples enfermedades derivadas sino porque su paladar se atrofiará y no podrá degustar de la mejor manera. Nos revela que ella se llama Margot y realmente ni se inmuta al decirle que su paladar morirá porque cree morirá de la mejor manera (gente extraña).
La personas empiezan a abordar hacia una isla pero antes de subir nuestra joven pareja ven que los invitados tops ya lo están haciendo así que ellos se limitan a admirar, llegan a montarse y vemos gente que luce muy excéntrica y de todo tipo sin lugar a duda; al acomodarse un mesonero les lleva una degustación especial del chef, una receta de ostras cubiertas, aunque Margot ya la probará de inmediato su novio no la deja y le toma una foto, él luce fascinado pero ella para nada algo parecido. Al probarla queda estupefacto dando cada detalle de los sabores, los compuestos y todo, en resumen. Le gusta mucho la cocina pero a su novia no le parece lo mismo solo dijo que estaba rico y que le gustaban mejor las ostras solas, curiosa pareja sin lugar a dudas.
Al llegar a la isla está la recepcionista esperando en el puerto y llegando a nuestros protagonistas les pregunta sus nombres lo cual tenemos un problema porque el nombre de ella no coincidió porque la reservación para esta excursión era para otra mujer (?). Resulta que el explica que la otra persona no pudo asistir y en su lugar vino Margot, la recepcionista lo tomo algo normal y la dejo pasar, aunque fue muy incomodo Margot no trajo pista de eso, no dijo ni hizo nada al respecto, eso nos da una pista que nuestra joven pareja no es muy pareja que digamos.
Adentro la isla es muy paradisíaca, la recepción da una guía por la isla donde elaboran todo y de dónde sacan las cosas, es realmente una isla de producción para hacer comidas extravagantes y todos los trabajadores viven en la isla excepto el chef y ahora un grupo de excursionistas también estarán dentro observando cómo es la vida de una isla de comida.
Son llevados al plato fuerte de la excursión en esta isla, comer; en el salón son llevados cada quien a su puesto, el salón tiene una cocina integrada donde están muchas personas cocinando, la misma persona que dio la guía les dice que está prohibido tomar fotos porque el chef así lo decidió lo que nos deja a nuestro protagonista triste pero no desanimado, él se acerca y alienta a Margot a ver a los ayudantes preparar la comida y hablan sobre técnicas de preparación y el ayudante le responde con su nombre lo cual lo hace extrañar ya que es inusual, aunque el ayudante le explicó que memorizan a sus invitados a cenar y le dice que se siente porque servirán; antes de servir el chef da un discurso y al final nos dice algo que nos deja estupefactos, no pueden comer, está prohibido, solo pueden degustar, probar y delirar con la comida pero no solo comerla ya que sería un pecado y todos aceptan.
El primer plato es realmente fascinante, una viera colocada en una roca con adornos comestibles brutales y como segundo plato, el chef juega un poco con la historia, un concepto no visto; el segundo plato son los ingredientes que acompañan al pan más no acompañados con pan, así que van llevando platos con esos ingredientes y el pan no está permitido. Los comensales no están contentos con el concepto pero igual tratan de llevarlo, unos más que otros hasta que el chef se acerca a Margot porque está evitando el segundo plato pero Margot solo explica que ella come lo que quiere y cuando quiere, empoderada, el chef sin más remedio lo acepta y le cuenta a una señora en una mesa alejada algo, no sabemos qué es.
Casi al instante el chef pide la salida del tercer plato y lo llama "recuerdos" y nos cuenta que esa señora de ahí es su madre y está muy borracha y no es algo inusual; además nos contó que su padre tampoco era inusual que llegara borracho pero un día discutieron y su padre estaba estrangulando a su madre y él tuvo que meterse por más que lloro lo único que detuvo a su padre fue una tijera de cocina en el muslo. Y su cita después de eso fue, ojalá la hubiese podido clavar en su cuello…
Habrá más que solo comida en esta película, lo sabemos.

The people start to board towards an island but before our young couple gets on they see that the top guests are already doing it so they just admire, they get on and we see people that look very eccentric and of all kinds without a doubt; as they settle in a waiter brings them a special tasting of the chef, a recipe for covered oysters, although Margot will try it right away her boyfriend does not let her and takes a picture, he looks fascinated but she does not look anything like that at all. When he tastes it he is stunned giving every detail of the flavors, the compounds and everything, in short. He likes cooking very much but his girlfriend doesn't find it the same, she just said it was delicious and that she liked oysters better alone, a curious couple without a doubt.
Arriving at the island is the receptionist waiting at the port and arriving at our protagonists asks them their names which we have a problem because her name did not match because the reservation for this excursion was for another woman (?). It turns out that he explains that the other person could not attend and Margot came instead, the receptionist took it as normal and let her pass, although it was very uncomfortable Margot brought no clue about it, she did not say or do anything about it, that gives us a clue that our young couple is not a couple to say.
Inside the island is very paradisiacal, the reception gives a guide around the island where they make everything and where they get things from, it really is a production island to make extravagant meals and all the workers live on the island except the chef and now a group of hikers will also be inside observing what life is like on a food island.
They are taken to the highlight of the excursion on this island, eating; in the hall they are taken each one to his post, the hall has an integrated kitchen where many people are cooking, the same person who gave the guide tells them that it is forbidden to take pictures because the chef decided so which leaves our protagonist sad but not discouraged, he approaches and encourages Margot to watch the helpers prepare the food and they talk about preparation techniques and the helper answers him with his name which makes him strange because it is unusual, although the helper explained that they memorize their guests for dinner and tells him to sit down because they will serve; Before serving the chef gives a speech and at the end he tells us something that leaves us stupefied, they can not eat, it is forbidden, they can only taste, taste and rave about the food but not just eat it as it would be a sin and everyone accepts.
The first course is really fascinating, a viera placed on a rock with brutal edible decorations and as a second course, the chef plays a little with history, an unseen concept; the second course are the ingredients that accompany the bread but not accompanied with bread, so they are carrying dishes with those ingredients and bread is not allowed. Almost instantly the chef asks for the third course to come out and calls it "memories" and tells us that that lady over there is his mother and she is very drunk and it's not unusual; he also told us that his father was also not unusual for him to arrive drunk but one day they argued and his father was strangling his mother and he had to step in no matter how much he cried the only thing that stopped his father was a kitchen shears in the thigh. And his date after that was, I wish I could have stuck it in his neck....
