What my kid watches and how I feel about it

There are three kinds of feelings I have regarding what he watches:

1. I want him to watch that because I'm interested, too.
2. Whatever, at least it's not something in the third category
3. Oh god this is terrible, but he insists. I wish he didn't know it existed

Category 1, I try to guide him towards by lingering on a page with the show highlighted or by mentioning the name of if I'm asking him what he wants to watch. In this category lives:
Masha and the Bear
The Bare Bears (which he calls Care Bears with the mouse)
Sophia the First
Booba
Daniel Tiger
She-Ra
PJ Masks
Carl's Car Wash
Pocoyo (especially Pocoyo Halloween)

The second category I will also sometimes try to guide him to, because I hate the third category so much.
It includes (what he calls them):
PJ Masks TOYS -Which is kids playing with brand name toys
Masha BURGER -which is a video game featuring masha making a burger
Masha TOYS -Which is someone's stop-motion animated legos of masha and the bear, actually pretty cool, but doesn't hold his interest for long enough
Leo the dump truck
Babybus
chuchutv
little baby bum
Slick Slime Sam
Microwave songs (which is not what they're really called. No idea how he came up with this term for the genre, but it's two kinds of shows: simply CGI animation featuring vehicles, balls, colors and simple, simple motion OR someone putting things in a toy microwave then taking something similar but different out of the microwave through the magic of EDITING)
Rainbow Learning/Mommy making food/Mrs Rainbow Vehicles
Brainiacs/Brain Candy (which is totally fine but... the interesting episodes are uninteresting to him and the dull episodes for me are what he prefers)
Man building Legos

The third category is stuff that I really wish he wouldn't watch, but he's so dang insistent:
Blippi

I have so much to say.

1. Why is it called Prawn... Is it like, shrimp prom? But they're zombies? It seems like there would have been a better play on words that fit into the theme instead of making me think that there's a Little Mermaid crossover in the works.
2. Zombies have green hair? and live on the set of Little Shop of Horrors? Because of mold? And a disneyfication of poverty?
3. Can recommend Generation Dead. Not to a 5 year old, but a 12 year old, probably.

Yes. Don't tell my mother in law I let her 5 yo granddaughter watch a Zombie cheerleaders musical. Just after this scene we meet werewolves, btw. 
I have a ten year old who keeps asking to watch Walking Dead, so Generation Dead might be a suitable compromise. I'll have a look.

I may answer you this question maybe after some more time, because my son is almost 10 months old now. Now only some songs are capable of capturing his attention on the TV. I bet coping with the children’s choices and preferences may be tough sometimes. We, as parents, must make balance on what is best for them what makes them really happy and excited.

Yeah, we try not to impose any unimportant rules so that the important rules stand out. If he wants to watch Blippi, bleh, fine, I guess. What's important, now, is that he wash his hands regularly and well.
