One thing that is gradually dwindling in this our dispensation is the act of doing good and this is as a result of the constant evil people repay others for their good deeds.

Even the Holy bible says that we should pay good for good and also do good to those who persecute or do evil to us.

One thing that you should have at the back of your mind is that doing good has a way of preserving us and the bible say that when you do good to your enemies, you're pouring a coal of fire on their bosom.

**Why do people pay evil for good**
There are two major reasons why most people pay evil for good and they're:
- **greed**
Greed has made most people to neglect the good deeds done to them. A greedy person will also want to get more than their neighbors. In a business deal between two people, the greedy one will want to out smart their fellow to gain everything from the deal. This on its own is very bad and should be discouraged. One bad thing here is that you can only discourage yourself from being greedy but not others. 
- **ungratefulness**
Ungrateful people will never see the good you've done to them. A man with an ungrateful mind will never value anything they receive from you. Being grateful to someone who does good to you means that you value what they've done for you even if it's little in the eyes of others.

Doing good to everyone around keeps your door open for more blessings and it has a way of keeping your accusers far away from you. Your testimonies will speak in your absence and in turn you'll be safe.
