> The parental is injured and their companion friend is trying to get a rambunctious 4 yr old into the bath. -- Anon Guest
"No, no, no, no, NO!" Kindergartener Eyn ran squealing through their domicile, bouncing off of anything and everything, including their Prime Rennie, Quie.
Who was currently flopped on the family couch, on heavy medication, and waiting enough energy to make it all the way to the matrimonial sleep nook. "Ow!" She missed the grab. "_Menace_... Mama's already _had_ a horrible day."
"I'm _not_ taking a bath!"
Drees skirted around the couch at full speed, they were gaining ground on their four-year-old escapologist. "Sorry babe. Little bit of household revolution going on."
"Break out Duckie Wuckie," managed Quie in a pained croak. "Do the song."
"Oh for--" Drees sighed and tutted. "Duckie Wuckie? Really?"
"If it's nuts and it works," sighed Quie. She slumped back into the cushions, eyes shut and arms around Eyn's launching point. "Duckie Wuckie works."
"Fine," grumbled Drees. "But I'm going to complain the entire way."
"Do it," said Quie. "Eyn thinks that's hilarious."
Drees took a deep breath and grumbled all the way to the storage area where Duckie Wuckie - the humourously-shaped bathing accessory - usually "lived". "Hey there, Duckie Wuckie. It's time to go to work," singsonged Drees. They switched to Duckie's voice. "Waaak? I wath pwaying gameth."
Eyn started cackling. At least they stopped running.
"Yeah, but Eyn's playing games at bathing time and you know how it goes. We gotta to _the song_." Drees made Duckie moan and groan about it. Including some muttering of, "Where'th that diddly dang dirty kid?"
Eyn went running for the cleansing booth, shouting, "Do the song! Do the song!"
Drees sighed, starting up the cleansing booth. In Duckie's voice, they began the song, "Thith ith de way we thcrub our back, thcrub our back, thcrub our back. Thith ith de way we thcrub our back, wif your Duckie Wuckie..."
Maybe when the little savage was cleaned and tucked in, Quie would be able to make it all the way to the sleeping nook.
