> They were from a place that mistreated them for their weight and was upset. Twii, and a kind therapist who realized that the main problem was a genetic disorder, helped them realize that their life was worth keeping. That hope was not just an obscure word in the dictionary. -- Anon Guest
Therapist Kremp said he needed a confidence boost. Peej was almost entirely certain that she was going to set up some easy test to pass or some false scenario in which it was impossible for him to lose. What he did not expect was a martial arts teacher.
"I get it," Peej sighed. "Lose weight and get fit, and the world will beat a path to my door. I've heard it a million times."
"Incorrect," said the instructor. "You have a genetic predisposition to carrying weight. Dieting only makes it worse. Therefore, the best thing to learn is how to carry and use it to your advantage."
"I'll fail," predicted Peej. "I always fail."
"We shall see," said the Master. "My name is Twii. If I cannot teach you, then... it is _I_ who will have failed."
Peej learned a month later that this Twii was the Immortal Master who had learned every style of martial arts in well over a millennium. Twii had taught _Havenworlders_ to use their enemies' strengths against them.
Peej's first exercises didn't make any sense, but after what he learned? He kept to them with a devotion close to abject faith. Including the Master's admonition to stop just when his motions started to hurt, and to log the pain.
Peej was keeping a lot of logs. About the food he ate, the exercises he did, the work he kept, the hours he slept. They called it monitoring his baselines. Therapist Kremp was keeping tabs on his emotional atmosphere. Master Twii was helping him maintain his body.
And though he may grumble and complain about doing it all... doing things of the like became easier. Yes, he was still heavy, but he could move faster. Lift more. React more easily.
In the middle of it all, he noticed something else.
Peej didn't know when, but he stopped hating himself. Well. Stopped hating himself so much. It was true what everyone said about Master Twii. They really _were_ a miracle worker.
[AN: Big thanks to "PJ" who gifted me a very expensive Coffee, yesterday. They are now a part of Amalgam Universe as Peej. Bless you, and may the traffic lights be always in your favour :D ]
