With the crypto market in the doldrums, employee offerings and applications for roles in the **blockchain and crypto industry** have experienced a drastic drop, [**CCN**](https://www.ccn.com/blockchain-job-offerings-and-seekers-decline-with-crypto-market-capitalization/amp/) reported.

According to [**CCN,**](https://www.ccn.com/blockchain-job-offerings-and-seekers-decline-with-crypto-market-capitalization/amp/) citing figures from **Jane Vaden, Indeed US’s PR Manager,** from **October 2017 to October 2018,** job applications for positions pertaining to the **blockchain and crypto industry** declined by 3.06% while employer offerings increased by merely 25.49%.

The above figures indicate **an immense contraction** compared to the numbers for the previous year.

**Vaden told [**CCN:**](https://www.ccn.com/blockchain-job-offerings-and-seekers-decline-with-crypto-market-capitalization/amp/)** "If you look at data from the year prior, October 2016 to October 2017, job seeker interest for roles related to bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency rose by 481.61%, while employer interest for roles related to the same terms rose 325%."
