Opening Tricks
# A Technical Detail Missed.

So This will be a post about a trick I had work out for me in a game I played on the web.

**1.g3 d5 2.Bg2 Nf6 3.Nf3 Nc6 4.0-0 e5!**
![](http://www.apronus.com/chess/diagram/stagram.php?d=MRNBQ_RK_PPPPPPBP_____NP____________pp_____n__n__ppp__pppr_bqkb_r4&p=37&s=0&c=BBBBBBEEEEEE969696000000&r=FEFEFE&z=w)
Black has absolutely gotten something from this opening, I would not be to surprised if I found he had equalized, but then you have to be careful about over-playing the position.

**5.d3 Bc5 6.c3 Ng4**
![](http://www.apronus.com/chess/diagram/stagram.php?d=MRNBQ_RK_PP__PPBP__PP_NP_______n___bpp_____n_____ppp__pppr_bqk__r0&p=37&s=0&c=BBBBBBEEEEEE969696000000&r=FEFEFE&z=w)
Okay that knight move seems suspicious, it seems like he is violating opening principle, so here I found it reasonable to look for a blow to use against him, this might be overplaying the position.
**7.d4**
Okay this is a very nice move *7.-e4 8.dxc5 exf3 9.Bxf3 Nf6 10.Bg4*
![](http://www.apronus.com/chess/diagram/stagram.php?d=MRN_Q_RK_PP__PP_P__P__BP___________Pp__B___n__n__ppp__pppr_bqk__r0&p=37&s=0&c=BBBBBBEEEEEE969696000000&r=FEFEFE&z=b) analysis diagram
and that looks like another pawn, that is not playable for black it seems also black is lacking development in this position. So I decided this variation had no terror for me, I did not really see a lot of alternatives.

**7.-e4 8.dxc5 exf3 9.Bxf3 0-0?!**
![](http://www.apronus.com/chess/diagram/stagram.php?d=ARNBQ_RK_PP__PP_P__P__BP_______n___Pp______n_____ppp__pppr_bq_rk_0&p=37&s=0&c=BBBBBBEEEEEE969696000000&r=FEFEFE&z=w)
He might get up in development, but this didn't save his pawn, but I found another nice move to play in this position.

**10.e4! dxe4? 11.Bxg4 Qxd1 12.Bxd1**
![](http://www.apronus.com/chess/diagram/stagram.php?d=ARNBB_RK_PP___P_P__P___P_____p_____P_______n_____ppp__pppr_b__rk_0&p=37&s=0&c=BBBBBBEEEEEE969696000000&r=FEFEFE&z=b)
Here he probably should just resign, he dropped a whole piece just from his overly aggressive play in the opening.

I will not show the rest of the game, nothing happened I just developed the pieces and beat him, he did lack a full piece.
