For instance, applications and data that are almost in the cloud, then you should try Gallium OS. With a little trick from [Linux insider](https://www.linuxinsider.com/story/Got-a-Screwdriver-GalliumOS-Can-Turn-Chromebooks-Into-Linux-Boxes-85667.html), you can install Gallium OS on your Chromebooks. This Linux distribution is a derivative of Ubuntu, precisely Xubuntu, known for its light and fast nature. Nice hunt @iqbaladan! I have thought for a long time that I wouldn't mind getting a Chromebook but I have never been keen on using a laptop powered by Google and all of it's inbuilt spyware and unnecessary bloatware which can be difficult to remove. Now this Linux distro is available, I may be tempted to get one and install this straight away. @donkeysworld.
