5 Minute Freewrite Part II - Iris

Continuing from yesterday’s prompt - DESERT

So many pair of eyes were staring at him. It was as if they were looking through him & that made him scared. He had made it through by spelling the 9 words & now it’s down to the last one. Sean was confident that he’ll make it through to the next level.

### KEEP CALM & FOCUS SEAN FRANCISSO. YOU CAN DO IT!

The MC said out loud the last word for Sean.

### DESERT... DESERT... DESERT...
Without thinking much, Sean confidently said out loud *T-H-E-R-E-C-E-R-T*
The crowd made a loud sound... ARGGH!! The MC asked if that was Sean’s final answer. 

Sean looked at all the eyes staring at him. He started to loose focus & felt the dizzy spells coming to him. A feeling of nausea was beginning to build at the back of his throat. Just as he thought he was going to faint, a pair of glittering eyes caught his attention. His mom was looking straight at him. Her eyes were so bright & clear that he could almost see her iris. Her facial expression was full of love & faith in him.

> He remembered that beautiful Sunday morning. He was playing with his toys by the porch. Suddenly, there was a loud sound inside the house. Sean ran inside & found his brother, Paul sitting on the floor. There was blood on his shirt, it seems like he had a fall & hurt his head. Daddy was sitting next to him. 
The feeling of nausea was happening. This always happens whenever he sees blood. Mommy came quickly by his side & said to Sean. 
*Look at me Sean, look into my eyes... focus on the lines inside my eye. Can you do it. Focus on the iris... That’s right! Now, breath, just breath.*

It was all he needed. He took a deep breath & spoke out loud.
### NO! My answer is D-E-S-E-R-T. I repeat D-E-S-E-R-T.

The crowd clapped their hands & shouted his name in joy. He could actually hear his mom calling him from the crowd. He did it ! He actually made it through to the next level.
