Banh Canh Cua Nguyen Bieu | Tasteem Review

How does one write a review on Street Food & Noodles combined ?

Firstly, most of these street food stalls don't have a permanent shop what more a fix address. Most street food stalls serves the best food ever; as the saying goes, the best food is found in the most unexpected places. In this case, it is very true.

It happened to us when we were walking endlessly looking out for a place to eat. Since we were new to this part of town and not speaking the language well, we just end up walking. Crossing the traffic lights and then through small alleys until we finally reached this place.

There were several low tables with stools and people were seating down eating their dinner. A food stall was set up at the sidewalk and two mid aged man were busy preparing and cooking noodles. We saw the sign board and of course neither one of us understood what it says. Best way is to look at what was served to the diners.

We decided to give it a try. And thankfully, one of the cooks spoke a bit of simple English. We ordered 2 servings of the spicy looking noodles and 2 cups of iced tea. When our noodles came, it was a served in a rather large pot. Stirring the noodles, we realised that it's ingredients is crab meat, shrimp, prawns and fish cake.

The gravy was a bit starchy and tasted a bit spicy. The rice noodles were large in size as compared to the usual ones I've eaten before. My rating on the food is 7 / 10. Hygiene was below average since diners threw rubbish all over the place - this is very common in this city where food rubbish is constantly thrown on the streets as it is.

Would I come back here again, perhaps so if I can still find this street ha ha..
