<div class="text-justify">Saludos queridos miembros de esta comunidad, el día de hoy quiero contarles acerca de la cita médica de Rafael a la que acudimos el pasado miércoles, como les había comentado en el  post anterior estábamos a la espera de la revisión de los resultados de lo radiografía de senos paranasales y también ver su evolución del primer mes de tratamiento. </div>

><div class="text-justify">Greetings dear members of this community, today I want to tell you about Rafael's medical appointment that we attended last Wednesday, as I had mentioned in the previous post, we were waiting for the review of the results of the X-ray of paranasal sinuses and also see its evolution of the first month of treatment. </div>

<div class="text-justify">El miércoles previendo lo que pasó en la cita consulta anterior, decidí llevar a Rafael a la escuela primera hora, como el consultorio médico queda cerca  fui a pagar la consulta y a quedarme allí a hacer la cola, Rafael quedó de segundo lugar en la lista pero la doctora llegó a la 10:30, porque ella viene de otra ciudad y estaba lloviendo en la carretera, cuando ella llegó yo fui a recoger a Rafael en la escuela, al llegar al centro médico Rafael pasó primero  a la revisión de peso, estatura , tensión y saturación de oxigeno y  debimos esperar un rato más a que la doctora atendiera a la primera paciente, mientras tanto yo iba preparada con a chaqueta de Rafael para evitar el frio y la tablet para que él se quedara quieto mientras esperábamos. </div>

><div class="text-justify">On Wednesday, anticipating what happened in the previous consultation appointment, I decided to take Rafael to school first hour, as the doctor's office is close by, I went to pay for the consultation and stay there to queue, Rafael was second on the list but The doctor arrived at 10:30, because she comes from another city and it was raining on the road, when she arrived I went to pick up Rafael from school, when he got to the medical center Rafael went first to check his weight, height , tension and oxygen saturation and we had to wait a while longer for the doctor to attend to the first patient, meanwhile I was prepared with Rafael's jacket to avoid the cold and the tablet so that he would stay still while we waited. </div>

<div class="text-justify">Cuando la doctora al fin nos atendió empezaron las malas noticias, me dijo que Rafael efectivamente tiene los cornetes nasales tapando su vía respiratoria, asimismo tiene una sinusitis del lado izquierdo, me explicó las imágenes y me dijo que en la radiografía con la boca abierta a Rafael se le ve las adenoides tapando  entre  60 y 70%, sin embargo en la radiografía con la boca cerrada esta obstrucción en realidad es de 80%, me señaló cual debería ser el espacio en negro en la imagen, es decir, su vía respiratoria y me dijo que todo lo que estaba  gris o blanco es lo que está tapado, me sorprendió ver que mi hijo tiene un espacio muy pequeño para que pase el aire y respirar. Es decir, el necesita la cirugía para cornetes nasales y las adenoides, asimismo me dijo que Rafael a pesar de no haber presentado molestias en sus amígdalas, estas tiene un aspecto irregular, es decir, que no tienen una superficie lisa, por lo que ella recomienda aprovechar dicha cirugía para extraer las amígdalas también. </div>

><div class="text-justify">When the doctor finally treated us, the bad news began, she told me that Rafael actually has the nasal turbinates blocking his airway, he also has sinusitis on the left side, he explained the images to me and told me that in the X-ray with his mouth open to Rafael can see his adenoids covering between 60 and 70%, however in the X-ray with his mouth closed this obstruction is actually 80%, she showed me what the black space in the image should be, that is, airway of him and told me that everything that was gray or white is what is covered, I was surprised to see that my son has a very small space for air to pass through and breathe. That is, he needs surgery for nasal turbinates and adenoids, he also told me that Rafael, despite not having had discomfort in his tonsils, they have an irregular appearance, that is, they do not have a smooth surface, so she recommends taking advantage of such surgery to remove the tonsils as well. </div>

<div class="text-justify">Mi ciudad es pequeña y existen solo dos clínicas, la doctora es de Barquisimeto, es decir la capital del estado, ella me preguntó si yo no tenía seguro medico o tenía la posibilidad de viajar a esa ciudad si ella consiguiera una clínica que cobrara un precio al que yo pudiera pagar, sin embargo las opciones son muy inseguras, yo obviamente no tengo seguro ni familiares en la otra ciudad, así que debo buscar yo misma las opciones de clínica, ella me dió una lista con todo lo que se necesita para la cirugía y con este papel yo debía ir a las clínicas a pedir un presupuesto, con los problemas de transporte debido a la escasez y altos precios de la gasolina de mercado negro, ir a esa ciudad por ahora no es fácil, ella me explicó que es una cirugía ambulatoria que no requiere hospitalización , es decir, que solo mi hijo estaría 1 hora en el pabellón y al salir me lo podría llevar a casa, es decir, que no debería ser tan costosa como otras cirugías, pero en Venezuela las cosas siempre son costosas porque el dinero que se obtiene de los trabajos comunes no es suficiente. Por otro lado ella también me dio la orden de los exámenes de laboratorio que tenía que hacerle a Rafael poco tiempo antes de operarlo, así como también la orden de consulta con cardiólogo, porque debe tener una evaluación del corazón. </div>

><div class="text-justify">My city is small and there are only two clinics, the doctor is from Barquisimeto, that is, the state capital, she asked me if I did not have health insurance or had the possibility of traveling to that city if she could find a clinic that charged a price to which I could pay, however the options are very insecure, I obviously do not have insurance or relatives in the other city, so I have to look for the clinic options myself, she gave me a list with everything that is needed for the surgery and with this document I had to go to the clinics to ask for a budget, with transportation problems due to the shortage and high prices of black market gasoline, going to that city for now is not easy, she explained to me that it is an outpatient surgery that does not require hospitalization, that is, only my son would spend 1 hour in the ward and when I left I could take him home, that is, it should not be as expensive as other surgeries, but in Venezuela things always it is so expensive because the money you get from ordinary jobs is not enough. On the other hand, she also gave me the order of the laboratory tests that she had to do to Rafael shortly before the operation, as well as the order of consultation with a cardiologist, because he must have an evaluation of the heart. </div>

<div class="text-justify">Con los datos a incluir en la cirugía mi mamá fue hoy  a las dos clínicas que existen en mi ciudad, regresó con los datos de un presupuesto impreso en una hoja, mientras que de la otra clínica solo me llamaron por teléfono para decirme el monto, mis ánimos se encuentran muy  bajos en este momento, al precio de dólar oficial el día de hoy el costo de la cirugía es de 1600$ y 1650 en la otra clínica, esto no incluye los exámenes de laboratorio, ni biopsia y preoperatorio, este monto obviamente en bolívares va ascender como es costumbre en un país donde la devaluación de la moneda nacional es a diario. </div>

<div class="text-justify">El costo de la cirugía echa  por tierra los planes que tenía para los ahorros que con tanto esfuerzo he obtenido en Hive este año, a pesar de haber comenzado un power down para aprovechar las subida de la moneda, espero que esto sea solo temporal, porque yo no tengo pensado abandonar Hive y pretendo seguir fortaleciendo mi cuenta, al mismo tiempo mi mamá me ha estado apoyando como siempre, entre ambas hacemos un gran equipo gracias a Hive y estoy muy agradecida por eso, sin embargo, dentro de tantas necesidades que solucionar y planes que tenia para hacer de esta navidad un momento diferente para mi hijo, el panorama es muy triste en casa, por un lado estoy agradecida de al fin tener un diagnostico acerca del padecimiento de Rafael, saber  que mi hijo esté respirando solo por un 20 % de su vía respiratoria es como una punzada en mi cabeza y en mi corazón cada vez que me trato de concéntrame en algún proyecto para publicar o el simple hecho de escribir. Sin  la menor intención de provocar lástima, escribo estas líneas a modo de catarsis, agradeciendo siempre el apoyo que he sentido de las madres de esta comunidad con sus comentarios y su preocupación por la salud de mi hijo. </div>

Without the slightest intention of causing pity, I write these lines as a catharsis, always thanking the support that I have felt from the mothers of this community with their comments and their concern for the health of my son. </div>
