Everything is collectible because there is a collector for everything!  A little-known collector's item is unusual serial numbers on US notes.  So I began keeping my eyes open for unique serial numbers, things like sequential (123456...) or repeating.  

I looked down at my change from the grocery store and noticed the same number "6" repeating over 5x as the first five numbers.   That's not something you see every day!  Also, it has the number "6" written four more times in the corners - making contain the number "6" 9x on the front of this note.

The bill is mostly uncirculated, although there are a few folds in the note, it's still crisp and new. 

On eBay, they're called "fancy" serial numbers.  Some (actually most) sell for face value, but a few that are extra "fancy" can be worth considerably more.  Interestingly, a very similar note sold on eBay for over 6x it's face value!
