En nuestro calendario siempre hay fechas especiales, son esas que están ligadas a los grandes momentos de la vida: el día que nos casamos, el nacimiento de los hijos… Con ellas ordenamos nuestra manera particular de apreciar el paso del tiempo y nos sirven de guía y recordatorio para organizar la memoria.

El año dos mil dieciocho es una de esas fechas inolvidables para mí. Corría el mes de marzo cuando decidí ingresar a la Blockchain. Unos meses atrás mi sobrina me había hablado del sitio pero no me decidía, ese mundo nuevo me parecía demasiado complicado. Sin embargo el espíritu de aventura pudo más que el temor.

Desde mi primera publicación pude sentir el calor de la comunidad. Personas que no conocía me recibieron amablemente y me invitaron a ser parte de esta gran familia. De la mano de muchos de ellos fui aprendiendo lo indispensable para hacer las cosas lo mejor posible, siempre enmarcado dentro de los principios éticos predominantes en esta casa.

Los primeros tiempos fueron de un gran frenesí, pasaba hasta catorce horas explorando por aquí y por allá. En ese entonces no existían las comunidades y más que grupos se conocían personalidades. Pronto tomé contacto con mucha gente y orienté mis publicaciones tal como veía que se hacía.

Casi sin darme cuenta la Blockchain se convirtió en parte importante de mi vida. Aquí he encontrado la motivación para emprender actividades que poco cultivaba. Cosas como escribir historias o reseñas de libros y películas no formaban parte de mi cotidianidad. De no haber ingresado acá quizá nunca me hubiese animado a explorar esas otras facetas de mi vida.

Otro evento, no tan bueno como la Blockchain, hizo que el dos mil dieciocho quedara marcado a fuego en mi vida. En el mes de noviembre mi hija menor emprendió el camino de la emigración, una situación que me dejó hecho polvo. La tristeza se apoderó de mí y no encontraba energías para seguir adelante.

En esos meses posteriores a la partida de la hija la Blockchain se convirtió en mi refugio. Cuando la angustia apretaba mi corazón y el insomnio me sacaba de la cama encendía la computadora, confiado plenamente en que alguien estaría aquí para ayudarme a sobrellevar ese tiempo gris de pesadez e incertidumbre. Este mundo virtual hizo mucho más llevadero mi duelo…

En el tiempo de la bifurcación volví a sentir una gran incertidumbre, muchos apostaban a que HIVE no sobreviviría. Sin embargo, la realidad demostró lo contrario, no solo sobrevivió sino que se fortaleció mucho más hasta convertirse en el gran sitio que es hoy. Estar entre los fundadores de esta nueva cadena de bloques siempre es un gran motivo de orgullo para mí.

Gracias a los amigos de @hivebuzz, esos grandes asistentes de la memoria, los hivers podemos tomar conciencia de cómo ha sido nuestra pasantía en la Blockchain. Reviso las estadísticas y la verdad es que me impresiono: mil cuatrocientos posts, once mil comentarios, once mil quinientas replicas, cuarenta y siete mil upvotes. No está mal para cinco años…

Pero el paso del tiempo también deja otras secuelas. Estoy en una edad donde a veces los achaques se vienen encima a una velocidad inusitada. Hace cinco años, por ejemplo, mi vista estaba bastante bien, me permitía disfrutar a plenitud de mi actividad en la Blockchain. Sin embargo, desde un año para acá una dolencia, que parece que llegó para quedarse, me ha impuesto bastantes limitaciones. Me molesta mucho la luz de las pantallas y el cell. Como consecuencia de ello he tenido que limitar sustancialmente el tiempo que dedico a las actividades de HIVE. Es algo que me ha costado aceptar. Pero la vida manda…

No puedo cerrar esta nota sin agradecer a todos los amigos que me han acompañado durante estos cinco años, hivers maravillosos que le han dado luz a mi vida. Sin esos compañeros de ruta la actividad de HIVE no tendría sentido. Sentirme conmovido por sus publicaciones y recibir su palabra de aliento alimenta mi espíritu cada día. Gracias a ustedes me he enriquecido como persona. Gracias por estar queridos amigos…

In our calendar there are always special dates, those that are linked to the great moments of life: the day we get married, the birth of our children... With them we organize our particular way of appreciating the passing of time and they serve as a guide and reminder to organize our memory.

The year two thousand eighteen is one of those unforgettable dates for me. It was the month of March when I decided to join the Blockchain. A few months ago my niece had told me about the site but I could not make up my mind, this new world seemed too complicated. However, the spirit of adventure overcame my fear.

Since my first publication I could feel the warmth of the community. People I did not know welcomed me kindly and invited me to be part of this great family. From the hand of many of them I learned what was indispensable to do things as best as possible, always framed within the prevailing ethical principles in this house.

The early days were a great frenzy, I spent up to fourteen hours exploring here and there. At that time there were no communities and more than groups we met personalities. Soon I made contact with many people and oriented my publications as I saw what was being done.

Almost without realizing it, Blockchain became an important part of my life. Here I have found the motivation to undertake activities that I did not cultivate much. Things like writing stories or book and movie reviews were not part of my daily life. If I had not joined here, I might never have been encouraged to explore these other facets of my life.

Another event, not as good as the Blockchain, made that the year two thousand eighteen was marked by fire in my life. In the month of November, my youngest daughter took the path of emigration, a situation that left me shattered. Sadness took hold of me and I could not find the energy to go on.

In those months after my daughter's departure, the Blockchain became my refuge. When anguish squeezed my heart and insomnia dragged me out of bed, I would turn on the computer, fully confident that someone would be here to help me get through that gray time of heaviness and uncertainty. This virtual world made my grief much more bearable...

At the time of the bifurcation I felt again a great uncertainty, many were betting that HIVE would not survive. However, reality proved otherwise, not only did it survive but it grew much stronger to become the great site it is today. Being among the founders of this new blockchain is always a great source of pride for me.

Thanks to the folks at @hivebuzz, those great memory wizards, we hivers can take stock of how our Blockchain internship has been. I check the statistics and the truth is that I am impressed: one thousand four hundred posts, eleven thousand comments, eleven thousand five hundred replies, forty-seven thousand upvotes. Not bad for five years...

But the passage of time also leaves other consequences. I am at an age where sometimes the ailments come upon me at an unusual speed. Five years ago, for example, my eyesight was quite good, allowing me to fully enjoy my activity in the Blockchain. However, since a year ago, an ailment, which seems to be here to stay, has imposed quite a few limitations on me. The light from the screens and the cell phone bothers me a lot. As a consequence I have had to substantially limit the time I dedicate to HIVE activities. It's something that has been hard for me to accept. But life rules...

I cannot close this note without thanking all the friends who have accompanied me during these five years, wonderful hivers who have given light to my life. Without these companions on the road, HIVE's activity would not make sense. Feeling moved by your publications and receiving your words of encouragement nourishes my spirit every day. Thanks to you I have been enriched as a person. Thank you for being my dear friends...

Felicidades por estos cinco años de mucha trayectoria y reconocimiento dentro de la Blockchain, siempre dando cada día lo mejor en cada post, cosa que no es fácil,  sin duda los años no pasan en balde como dice el dicho y vienen acompañado de algunos acachaques, pero a pesar de eso siempre está allí su post todos los días, eso es la constancia y parte de la preserverancia, un abrazo 🤗
