Les comento… Cuando me llegó la jubilación, a comienzos del dos mil, no pensaba en más nada que no fuera disfrutar del ocio. Por primera vez tenía la oportunidad de utilizar mi tiempo como quisiera, sin restricciones de ningún tipo, así que dedicaba mucho tiempo a la lectura, escuchar música y hacer excursiones a la montaña. Con eso era más que suficiente, me sentía bien y no echaba de menos hacer otra cosa. Por aquel entonces habían comenzado a instalar el servicio de ABA CANTV en mi comunidad, era la gran novedad porque permitía el acceso a internet, un tema completamente nuevo para mí. Con la finalidad de conocer más del asunto me inscribí en unos cursos de programación y fue allí que me encontré con un ex alumno de mis primeros tiempos como profesor de bachillerato. Ese nuevo rol de compañeros de clases nos sirvió para retomar una vieja amistad. Cada cierto tiempo él iba a mi casa a resolver cuestiones de estudios, me ayudaba con las tareas y yo le prestaba mi PC para que pudiera terminar sus actividades. Él siempre se quedaba mirando el salón donde nos reuníamos. En una oportunidad me dijo que aquel sitio estaba subutilizado, que podría sacarse mejor provecho de él. Aquello me sorprendió porque aquel espacio había sido concebido solamente para tener un poco más de comodidad. Sin embargo, él lo miraba de otra manera, con la mentalidad de la persona que siempre está pensando en cómo hacer un negocio. <center></center> Era indudable que él ya tenía un proyecto en mente, pero por algún motivo no se atrevía a decírmelo. Quizá esperaba que sus insinuaciones hubiesen despertado alguna curiosidad en mí, pero la verdad era que yo no tenía ningún interés en darle otro uso al local… Un buen día me dijo que por qué no comenzábamos a impartir cursos de computación a la gente de la comunidad. Pensaba que con la instalación de las conexiones a internet quizá habría muchas personas interesadas en avanzar en el mundo de la computación. <center></center> La idea me pareció interesante, después de todo me resultaba cercana puesto que se trataba de enseñar a otros. Le comenté mis dudas sobre el aspecto legal, si tendríamos que sacar permisos, hacer registros y esas cosas. Él me respondió que trabajaríamos de bajo perfil, sin publicidad exterior y con un público muy calculado. Conversé con mi esposa y se entusiasmó con la idea. Al poco tiempo hice las remodelaciones necesarias en el salón, las que incluían abrir una entrada hacia la calle. Compramos las computadoras, hicimos todas las instalaciones y empezamos a promocionar el sitio. Nuestra oferta era bastante atractiva, garantizábamos una enseñanza completamente personalizada, en cada tanda atendíamos a grupos de seis personas. Además, los grupos se organizaban de acuerdo a la edad, esto con la finalidad de no crear inhibiciones entre las personas mayores y los más jóvenes. Durante los primeros meses nuestras expectativas fueron completamente superadas, no esperábamos que hubiesen tantas personas interesadas, sobre todo los de mediana edad. La mayoría llegaba sin ningún tipo de conocimiento, incluso sin tener computadoras en sus casas. La idea de conocer algo de computación les resultaba seductora. Muchos de ellos luego de las primeras clases se animaban y compraban sus equipos personales. Aquella experiencia fue muy satisfactoria. Durante casi dos años mantuvimos los cursos, luego la matrícula comenzó a declinar, seguramente porque ya los que habían aprendido se convirtieron en maestros de los demás. Pero esa primera experiencia nos sirvió para incursionar más adelante en el negocio de los cibers. A veces es interesante aventurarse en un emprendimiento por el simple placer de conocer algo nuevo. Esto va en contra de las recomendaciones más sensatas que siempre nos dirán que lo mejor es emprender desde lo que se conoce más, porque es verdad que partiendo de lo conocido hay menos probabilidades de de cometer errores. Aunque no me gusta el término de «tareas dirigidas», mi sobrina Gilda, en Caracas, tiene un pequeño grupo de niños a quienes asiste por $1 dos días a la semana máximo 2 horas. No comparto la actividad porque los padres lo que quieren es que mi sobrina les haga las tareas a los niños y ese no es la esencia.

Hola, @irvinc. Ha sido muy placentero leer esta publicación, y aunque distinta a la propia, encuentro coincidencias. No sé si planeas emprender algo nuevo, en una de las fotos aparece una librería, quizás no sea un negocio muy rentable, pero un híbrido de papelería y librería de segunda mano, puede ser una idea interesante. Ideas más locas resultaron. Bodegón y barbería, que dirían algunos. Salud, bienestar y abundancia de lo bueno.
