Hello my dear friends !! I am very pleased to be participating in this new Christmas-themed contest from our friend Esie from the #Ecency community today. This is a topic that I love to talk about since we spend the whole year thinking about what to wear, how to dress the table, what is the trend color of the year to use in decorating the tree, many more things.
There are several categories and I will start with food since it is something we do only once a year to celebrate this date and because it is also something that unites the family since together we make these delicious dishes that my mother inherited from me and I I teach to do and that I have inherited them to my children and my children to my grandchildren. This is union and love tranfered from generation to generation.
We begin in the first days of December with the assembly of the tree, this is done by my daughter together with her children who are the ones who begin to ask to open the tree.
**Food is a feast of love, union, tolerance and friendship at our table.**
Our feast consists of Ham Bread, Chicken Salad, Pernil and the star of the night: Las Hallacas, a very laborious dish but rich in flavors and smells. The Fruit Cake cannot be missing, made with walnuts, almonds, candied fruits, raisins and rich dried fruits that are only seen in this season.
**The secret friend and the gifts of Santa Claus.**
When the month begins it is time to decide whether to exchange gifts among all who wish to participate. If it is done, you have to write on a piece of paper the name of each participant for a night to meet so that everyone takes out a paper that will say who will be their secret friend and will be the one to whom they give a gift on the 24th after dinner. From then until the 24th a present will be sent, it can be a candy or a small gift without the person finding out who is sending it to begin the guess who is his secret friend.
Also after dinner, the gifts for the children that Santa left them under the Christmas tree begin. I love to see the joy with which the children open those gifts and tear the paper to find out what is inside the box and then the astonished face they make when they see what it is. It is one of the most emotional parts of Christmas, I love it!
**The drink that decorates our table at Christmas.**
We can accompany our rich dishes with any drink, but the traditional one is our Ponche ´e crema. Our punch and cream is a very tasty drink that is taken with ice, it is spicy and today I am going to give you the recipe, it is something very cheap and quick to make.
**Ingredients:**
2 boxes of flan
1 can of condensed milk
2 cups of rum or more if you prefer it strong, but this amount is fine.
Preparation:
Cook the flan as indicated in the instructions on the box (milk and powder from the box) do not add more sugar as it will be very sweet. Let the flan cool. Blend the flan, condensed milk and 2 cups of rum in a blender. Done, now you can pack in bottles of those that we have left for wine, rum or brandy or any long bottle. The longer you let it macerate in the fridge, the more concentration of rum it will take, so you have to test how much alcohol you want to add.

Este es un tema del que me encanta hablar ya que pasamos todo el año pensando en que vestir, como vestir la mesa, cual es el color tendencia del año para usar en la decoracion del arbol, y muchas cosas mas.
Hay varias categorias y comenzare con la comida ya que es algo que hacemos una sola vez en el año para celebrar esta fecha y porque ademas es algo que une a la familia ya que entre todos hacemos estos ricos platos que me heredo mi mama y me los enseño a hacer y que yo se los he heredado a mis hijos y mis hijos a mis nietos. Esto es union y amor transmitodos de generacion en generacion.
Comenzamos en los primeros dias de Diciembre con el armado del arbol, esto lo hace mi hija junto a sus niños que son los que comienzan a pedir abrir el arbol.
**La comida es un festin de amor, union, tolerancia y amistad en nuestra mesa.**
Nuestro festin consiste en Pan de Jamon, Ensalada de Gallina, Pernil y la estrella de la noche: Las Hallacas, un plato muy laborioso pero rico en sabores y olores. La Torta de Frutas no puede faltar, elaborada con nueces, almendras, frutos confitados, pasitas y ricos frutos secos que solo se ven en esta temporada.
**El amigo secreto y los regalos de Santa Claus.**
Cuando comienza el mes es tiempo de decidir si se hace un intercambio de regalos entre todos los que deseen participar. Si se hace, hay que escribir en un papelito el nombre de cada participante para una noche reunirse a que cada quien saque un papel que dira quien sera su amigo secreto y sera a quien le de regalo el dia del 24 despues de la cena. Desde entonces y hasta el dia 24 se estara enviando un presente, puede ser un caramelo o un obsequio pequeño sin que la persona se entere de quien se lo envia para que comience la adivinanza de quien es su amigo secreto.
Tambien despues de la cena se da inicio a los regalos de los niños que les dejo Santa debajo del arbol de Navidad. Me encanta ver la alegria con la que los niños abren esos regalos y rasgan el papel para saber que es lo que hay dentro de la caja y luego la cara de asombro que ponen cuando ven lo que es. Es una de las partes mas emotivas de la navidad, me encanta !!!
**La bebida que engalana nuestra mesa en Navidad.**
Podemos acompañar nuestros ricos platos con cualquier bebida, pero la tradicional es nuestro Ponche ´e crema. Nuestro ponche é crema es una bebida muy sabrosa que se toma con hielo, es especito y hoy les voy a regalar la receta, es algo muy economico y rapido de hacer.
**Ingredientes:**
2 cajas de flan
1 lata de leche condensada
2 tazas de ron o mas si lo prefieres fuerte, pero esta cantidad esta bien.
Preparacion:
Cocine el flan como indican las instrucciones de la caja (leche y el polvo de la caja) no agregue mas azucar ya que le quedara muy dulce. Dejar enfriar el flan. Licuar en la licuadora el flan, la leche condensada y las 2 tazas de ron. Listo, ahora puedes envasar en frascos de esos que nos quedan de vino, ron o brandy o cualquier frasco largo. Entre mas tiempo lo dejes macerar en la nevera mas tomara concentracion del ron, por eso hay que ir probando que tanto alcohol deseas añadir.
Estos son los aromas de mi cocina en Navidad y que llevo a cualquier parte del mundo donde vaya, espero que les guste y se animen a preparar el ponche que es muy sabroso.
