The Condition of My Hydroponic Garden in the Middle of June 2023 - Rat Pests Have Disappeared and Vegetable Growth is Optimum

Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am also very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to participate and contribute again to HiveGarden Community.

As you know, it's been almost two years since I contributed and did blogging activities on Hive, I always try to write about hydroponic farming content that I do in my hydroponic garden. I always try and try to be able to provide consistent and informative content for all my friends. So, what activities did I do in my hydroponic garden this time? Keep watching my post below.

During this week, I have been very busy. This week, I have been very busy. My business is running well and various other activities limit my time to write. However, I want to tell my friends at HiveGarden Community, that for almost 10 days now, my hydroponic garden has been rat free.

For almost a year now, rats have been the most annoying pest in my hydroponic garden. The peak of this rat attack occurred last May, and made me have to give up hundreds of pakcoy seeds that could no longer live because they were eaten by rats. After various rat poisons and treatments, finally the rat exorcism technique that I made last week managed to get rid of the rats. I am very happy, because the vegetables that I plant look clean, beautiful and their development is not disturbed.

**Condition of Pakcoy in My Hydroponic Garden**

So, now I invite my friends to see the condition and growth of the pakcoy that I plant in my hydroponic garden. Currently, the pakcoy in my hydroponic garden are around 34 days old after sowing. The Pakcoy that I planted in my hydroponic garden grew well and optimally. The growth of this pakcoy is evenly distributed and most importantly the color of the leaves is green and beautiful. One more thing, some of the pakcoy whose leaves were attacked by rats have shown a better condition compared to last week's condition.

In terms of age, this pakcoy is ready to be harvested and has sufficient weight to be harvested. However, the pakcoy that I planted in my hydroponic garden had been ordered by several offices and schools to be transferred to their hydroponic installations. Yup, as someone who works on make hydroponic installations, I understand that not everyone who makes hydroponic installations can do the activity of growing vegetables in their hydroponic installation. Some people become very lazy or don't have time to garden and end up looking for hydroponic vegetables that are ready to be transferred to their hydroponic media.

Earlier this week, I also started sowing the pakcoy seeds. According to my planting plan, after all the pakcoy have been harvested, I can already replant the vegetables with the seeds I have sown.

**Conditions of Lettuce in Hydroponic Gardens**
Next, I invite my friends to see the lettuce that I grow in my hydroponic garden. In this planting period, lettuce is the vegetable that I grow the most in my hydroponic garden. Currently, there are about 650 pots of lettuce of various growing ages that I am growing in my hydroponic garden.

I grow lettuce in two different locations. First, I planted lettuce on the second floor balcony of my house. I planted about 250 pots of lettuce on this second floor balcony. The age of the lettuce on the second floor balcony of my house is about 14 days after seeding. This lettuce grows very well and optimally, we can see it from the color of the green leaves and also the uniform growth of the lettuce. For this planting period, I used a liquid fertilizer solution with a concentration of around 600-700 ppm. We'll see how the lettuce develops on the second floor balcony in the next week.

Second, I grow about 400 pots of lettuce in my hydroponic garden. This lettuce was about 19 days old or five days older than the lettuce on the second floor balcony. I am very happy to see the conditions for growing lettuce this time, this lettuce grows optimally and uniformly. In addition, if friends pay attention, this lettuce has green and bright leaf colors.

During this planting period, I used a liquid fertilizer solution with a concentration of around 600 ppm. For information for friends, if you look at the literature about hydroponics. Lettuce requires a concentration of 600-800 ppm for optimal growth. I deliberately set the water concentration in the planting medium to the lowest ppm concentration. Where I live, during the day it is very hot so evaporation is high, so the concentration of fertilizer can change continuously because of this high evaporation.

**Condition of Kangkong in My Hydroponic Garden**
Next, I invite my friends to see the kangkong that I grow in my hydroponic garden. Last Tuesday, I transferred the kangkong seeds to my hydroponic growing medium. I have to prepare a planting medium with the ideal concentration of ppm for growing kale in this hydroponic system. In this early planting period, I used a liquid fertilizer solution with a concentration of about 1000 ppm.

The kangkong that I planted grew well and optimally. I also replaced the kangkong seeds with a more well-known and trusted brand of seeds. It seems, I can be optimistic to get optimal kangkong yields in this planting period.

**Mint Leaves Condition in My Hydroponic Garden**
Finally, I will invite my friends to see the condition of the mint leaves that I plant in my hydroponic garden. During this week, I did a lot of work and activities for this mint. A few days ago, the mint leaves that I planted in this pipe hydroponic installation were damaged by a caterpillar attack.

The impact of this caterpillar attack makes a lot of my mint leaves die. Because of that, I immediately did the cleaning and also re-seeding the mint leaves in my hydroponic garden. This seeding and replanting of the mint prevented me from harvesting or selling the mint. In fact, mint leaves are the most popular hydroponic vegetable product in my hydroponic garden. I can only hope that the newly planted mint leaves will produce good growth in the future.
