Greetings everyone, 

Lately, the world of social media has really affected the perception of the youth such that most people believe that they should make it by any means necessary with immediate effect. However, the reality of the matter is that nothing good comes easy. People you see who have become successful meticulously built something until it started to materialize and yield some positive results. 

Everyone has their own path ahead of them and a variety of obstacles that may come their way. In fact, some of these obstacles are not in your control, you simply have to deal with them. Such is life. It is not something you can script like a movie and watch it all unfold. Even someone's rash decision can have a ripple effect or consequence on you. 

With that in mind, it is important to know that we can control only so much. Know what is best for you and set your goals. That way, you can also device strategies and means to accomplish them. It may take some time. But once you have a solid plan it doesn't matter how long it takes, it will surely come to fruition.

Nowadays, the major thing holding people back is **comparison**. People are constantly comparing themselves to others. It is surely not the best. That is because some people already have a headstart due to the connections they have from their family side or even due to certain privileges life has granted them already. Thus, if you keep comparing yourself to such people, you will only hurt yourself in the process. 

**Healthy competition** is not entirely had. Typical example is seen in academia when two buddies are fighting for the top spot in examinations, or when several players are fighting for the captain arm badge. In such scenarios, irrespective of whoever takes the crown or the badge, everybody gets to improve. Thus, it is okay to challenge yourself in that regard.

However, when you constantly want to be like others, you lose your own identity identity. In the long run, you would be lost since you'd even forget what drove you in the first place.
