Ever walked with someone and you just wished you were waking alone? Do your friends complain about your walking style? Do people mock at your walking style? Does it bother you when one walks in an abnormal style and you wish you could advise them on how to stop that? **YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE**  [Source](www.canstockphoto.ca) Some people get addicted to certain walking styles by attempting to meet up with a trending styles or upgrading their levels fashionably or so and the styles customize their bodies then it becomes late and can't be corrected. Some walking styles generate as a result of injuries, especially those sustained at a very young age that have not been addressed properly. This is because, after an injury, muscles on one side will be used more to support the body, leading to overuse and an increased likelihood of other injuries. Some of these bad walking styles are created unconsciously. A child could create a walking style due to shyness and low self-esteem. When no-one speaks about that... It becomes part of the child. **LET'S SEE HOW THIS ANOMALY CAN BE CORRECTED!** 1. CHECK YOUR STANDING POSTURE: check your back and shoulder postures. Walking with good posture is simply an extension of standing with good posture. Keep your head up, shoulders back, chest out, and eyes looking straight ahead. Avoid pushing your head forward. 2. CORRECT YOUR POSTURE EARLY OR ANYTIME YOU REALIZE IT: Some of us may feel it's already too late at the time we become aware of our walking styles. No! Better late than never. Examples of poor walking postures include leaning to one side, slouching, pronating and supinating. These can be caused by factors such as weakness of muscles in the feet, lower leg or even in the hip. A restriction in the ankle joint can also affect foot alignment, says an expert. These conditions can be corrected if theyβre spotted early. If your walking style is criticized, meet a specialist, such as a podiatrist, to get your feet assessed. This is because, when the causes are not addressed, the body will be prone to injury due to the way it compensates for these weaknesses. 3. ENGAGE IN EXERCISE- PILATES: Another approach is to strengthen the weaker areas of the body through exercise such as Pilates and regular running exercise. You could use a treadmill. 4. BE CONSISTENT: you definitely have to keep up the practice. Always be conscious of moving whenever you're walking. Try walking slowly when you're out with subconsciousness of your step improvement practice. 5. AVOID PUTTING ON WRONG SIZES OF SHOES: here goes another important point. Discomfort births alot of crazy postures in humans, even animals. A one-legged dog in time adapts to hopping and becomes OK with that. When the shoes are too free or too tight, you tend to adjust your walking style to that which will make you comfortable. If you continue putting on shoes of that size, you'll get adapted to such waking styles and it's gonna be internalized in a while. >Another important thing to watch while walking is **dragging your feet**.
