***Dear Friend,***

*You might be wondering why I'm using this letter to communicate with you, right? Well, the short answer is that it is because of a contest I'm participating.*

*Beyond that, I'm going to let you know the long answer. So here I go.*

*Many years ago, I let you down, I let bad things happened to you, and I never gave you an apology. I let one person in particular hurt you, and after that I let you think that it was ok. I never gave you the courage to talk with the right people, to be confident to ask for help when you needed, and what's worst I made you think that you were wrong.*

*That person hurt you, and I made you think it was worthy because you thought you loved him. This person did bad things to you for years and I never thought you were strong enough to put an end to the situation, and after you saw the reality of that person I blamed you.*

*I blamed you because you lost the real love of yourself. I made you feel ashamed and worthless,  I made you be a closed minded girl. However, you knew someone more interesting, more lovely, but again I let you down. She was cool and you knew it, but I was selfish and I didn't let you be happy. Then you changed, you were a girl no more.*

*I'm writing this because I want you to give me your forgiveness. If I knew then what I know now, I would never put you through that so much pain; I would make you to speak up, to ask for help, to be stronger, to not be afraid, I would give you the courage, the strength to be yourself.*

*I want you to forgive me for the moments I didn't do anything to protect you, for letting you down, for making you feel weak. I want you to forgive me for being a coward.*

*I will never let you be in that position again;  I'm here now, I'm stronger,  I'm brave, and what's more important I've learned to speak up not only for you, but for me too.*
