Lunacia Builds, Not Ruins: An Axie Infinity Journey

*I guess I didn't do it right...*

That was the words that muttered into my mouth in the middle of my journey to reach the *Lunacia Ruins*, the majestic land that **Axie Infinity** made. The time I almost had a blurry vision to reach my goal to scholarship grant. But here I am, telling you my story of backing down and getting back up.

Couple of months ago, I was a dreamer. I have built several of it and store it all in my mind but none of it came true. Days passed, I have seen how Axie Infinity—a blockchain game with Pokémon-inspired gameplay—changing the lives of many just by playing the said game.

“That's absurd. A game can actually compensate you just by playing it?” I blabbered to myself, having zero knowledge to it. “But I will try and do some research to know more about this *Axie Infinity* thing.”

I scanned all over Google, read articles, surveyed some of my colleagues who are playing the said game and all I ever heard was “it changed my life for the better.”

*And I should have known better. For my dreams. For my family.*

And here I am, finding myself scrolling through Facebook, looking for an opportunity to find a *manager* in which, he or she will be the one to lend you the team of Axies and you will play the game to earn Smooth Love Potion (SLP) which is the cryptocurrency of the game.

Moving forward, as I go through several groups, I have copied and pasted my pre-made commentary resumé because that is the mainstream thing they are doing to every posts. Joined different Discord channels and followed a lot of Axie Infinity-related content and people in Twitter just to be noticed.

Days passed and I am still looking for a scholarship, and it feels as though I am looking for a needle in a haystack. So, I did watch content creators like Brycent, local streamers of the game and videos in YouTube, reading over the tweets of the managers and knowing their take on getting their scholars to get to work with their team.

“...copying and pasting your comments will not make you stand out.”
“...add value to the community and engage.”
“...guilt-tripping and pity party will not make you get the spot. We are giving equal opportunities.”

And I took note in all of that. Changed my ways, ended that mainstream copying and pasting of comments, and start creating something that may helped me to advanced to my goals and still not forgetting the community.

Then, I started making memes out of my experience and knowledge of the game. I made a GIF for a manager just so I can stand out. Below are some of the samples:

...and infinite collection of other memes.

Most of them were noticed, some were not. But I am taking the high road. I will continue what I am doing and keep on believing that I am doing something for the community. As the day goes by, I couldn't help but noticed that I am now loving the community more as I get to know them.

Officially, a month had passed and still no scholarship. Then, one guild opened their scholarship program to all members of the Discord channel. And yes, you guessed it right, I applied.

The application form was released and I am so pumped. The form was opened for a limited time of 10 minutes. I got in to the first 200+ people who filled up the application before closing it.

Yet, worst comes to worst. They have released the list of people who got rejected and one of those mentioned were my Discord ID.

I was so lost at that very moment. I was so discouraged. My first rejection made me almost gave up my Lunacian dream. I did all my best to have the time of my life, but I guess this was not it.

Knowing me, Twitter is my diary, I vent out everything I am feeling. As I am typing those words with a heavy heart and puddle of tears building up on the windows of my eyes, submitted my tweet, some kind of encouragement came up.

“I am also proud of you. ☺️”

It was Brycent. The most popular, down-to-earth Axie Infinity streamer. I couldn't help but cry more, but this time, with a hopeful heart. When I posted that tweet, many of the Axie Infinity family came up to me and told me to not quit.

*And so I did not quit. It made me more courageous. I love this community so why would I give up on it?*

So, I wiped my tears and get back to the usual things I am doing to show my best interest to help the community. I can't stop and I won't stop. This is not the last straw.

I couldn't help but thank the community Axie Infinity built. As I have search for my scholarship, I have found family in them.

My time has arrived.
My hardwork has been paid off.
My efforts were seen.

Axie Buzz was the one to first noticed my works and reached out to know more. He is indeed one of the best people I have ever met. He is one of those people who believed that I can. He pushed me to be the better version of myself and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Best innovation and perfect for those who still looks for a scholarship and has dripping creative juices and share their talents to the world. Finally, this guy named Gank arrived. He followed my Twitter account and I followed him back. We had this engaging conversation about several things about Blockchain games. It was real fun and smart discussion.

As the hours passed by, the interaction continues. Likes, replies, tweets... And then right before my eyes, he shed a light on me.

“I have a spot for a scholar I'd like you to have...” and then he continues to say things about the proposed agreement.

My heart stopped.
My hands trembling.
This is it.
And without any second thoughts, I accepted it.

Everything's happening right before my eyes. I accepted the offer with tears streaming down my face, but this time, with fulfillment. What a rewarding feeling! Not even 24 hours have passed, and he entrusted me of something so valuable—these cute ARP Team.

Right now, my heart is full. I can finally say that this bumpy road to Lunacia is so rewarding.

Wow, that's a really good story. Which makes me think, how come you didn't get to Hive before? I honestly got entertained reading it and yes, it's a hard road indeed where you feel like you're looking for a needle in a haystack and see no signs of finding it, however, every effort will be rewarded and I'm sure something good awaits for us!
