Meditation is a type of psychological exercises that are used in the composition of health or spiritual and religious practice. Another meditation is called a special mental state of a person. In translation from the Latin word meditation means thinking, thinking, concentration. There is no miracle, magic or magic in meditation itself. The main sign of the state of meditation is the concentration on a particular task, the purification of the mind from all other thoughts.

Type of meditation

Here are examples of some types of meditation:

•	Active.

•	Passive.

* Meditations that are between active and passive species.

•	Group meditation.

* Guided meditation (with a guide).

Active meditation is, using certain movements:

strikes, techniques (martial arts-karate, Aikido, capoeira, kung fu, Taekwondo, etc., as well as walking on coal);

any stretching exercises (yoga, weight lifting);

dancing (belly dance, African, Sufi, shaman dances, voodoo, etc.);

In fact, any sport or dance can be considered as active meditation. Such meditation is directed to complete mastery of your body. People who actively meditate bring to perfection certain sets of movements (regardless of whether it is dance or martial art).

In passive meditation hardly use the movement (if used, then minimal). As a rule, in passive meditation controlled thoughts or certain mental images are used. Tools for passive meditation are sometimes sacred writings, statues, various special images.

Meditations that are between active and passive species are characterized by both the use of movements and internal thoughts. These include: Qi Gong (qigong), Taoist practices and tai Chi. Some sources call Qi Gong - "movement in immobility", and TA-Chi - "silence in movement". So is the Taoism is not active and not a passive practice.

Group meditations help to enhance the effect of the energy of the whole group of people.

This is because several people concentrate on one task. A task can be shared by the whole group, or a task that one of the group members wants to solve. Usually, in this case, there is a person who manages meditation. An example would be a collective prayer at the Baptists, where the pastor acts as the administrator of the prayer.

Guided meditations (with a guide) are used if it is difficult for a person to go into a meditative state. The purpose of any meditation is to control your thoughts, to be able to focus on the goal and achieve the result. In order not to control the process of purification from unnecessary thoughts, a guide is used in meditation, which gives instructions for the sequence of mental actions, helps to reach a certain state and does not allow to be distracted by extraneous thoughts. The guide should speak in a calm, quiet voice. Often as a conductor use quiet music without words or sounds of nature.

Based on the above, each person chooses the type of meditation that is closest to him, understandable, accessible.

Several ways to learn to meditate

1. The easiest, most popular and affordable way is to focus on your breath. Listen to the breath, watch a few seconds behind him, then gradually adjust it, until it becomes deep, calm and steady. Focus on it and with each subsequent time meditation will get better than before.

2. The second way is to concentrate on the candle or on your reflection in the mirror. Sit comfortably, light a candle or put a mirror in front of you and start to relax. Do not let foreign thoughts into your head, but watch the fire of a candle or your eyes in the mirror. If you perform this exercise daily for ten to twenty minutes, you will soon be able to move on to more complex ways of meditation.

3. Another way is to use special mantras in Sanskrit. Take a comfortable position, relax as much as possible and imagine that you are not in a room, but in some secluded place (in the forest, in the mountains, on the beach, etc.). When you feel that you are already mentally there, start to recite the mantra in Sanskrit.

4. This method is very different from the previous ones in that it does not represent a certain technique for meditation, but at the same time is great for those people who want to learn to meditate. Now the Internet has a lot of online and video meditations, which are a consistent instruction for meditation. Listening or watching a video is easy to learn to meditate.

Tips for beginners

* Meditate before eating because after eating meditation will go with less effect and will worsen the digestion of food.

* Meditation should be done regularly. If the habit of meditating is developed, then the effect and the benefit are much greater.

* Do not expect instant results. In order to get a certain effect from meditation, you need habit and patience. Each person achieves different results - someone needs a year, someone six months, someone even less time.

• Before going to sleep try not to meditate, because meditation is hard to sleep because of the fact that it charges with energy and vivacity. So meditate a few hours before bedtime.

The whole point of meditation is not only to be able to control your thoughts, but also to direct them in the right direction, get rid of unnecessary thoughts cluttering the brain, and concentrate on one task.

Meditation is, first of all, conscious, hard work on yourself.
