Dungeons and Dragons at the Library

Fourteen people. Over a dozen teens and adults eager to participate in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign here at the library on Saturday. Uffda. We started with a session 0 plan so everyone could finish character creation, but most players already had their characters ready to go,  so we dove into an improvised introductory adventure with no maps or minis beyond what I had drawn on the whiteboard. I will begin writing out the storynofbthe campaign as it shapes itself, sonother DMs can borrow from it in the future. It looks like I will be splitting the campaign into two parties based on the choices they had at the end of the adventure. That could be fun. One world, two interwoven stories.

I used to play D&D way back in the day. My character usually ended up being the sacrificial pawn in tough situations. I can't remember my characters getting over level 5. Great friends I had right? ;) We were playing on 2nd edition, so I have no idea how different it is from later editions.

I quite like 5th. Everyone has gripes about every edition, but I think it balances stats with streamlined play quite nicely.

Oof. That is a lot of people. Made sense to have two parties.

I used to play D&D with my friends (in person and through Discord). There were 6 persons in our party and it was challenging to get a smooth game going.

We played the 5th edition.

We have a meeting room for programs that might get noisy. People have more trouble with profanity levels than volume levels though, I think.
