 # Maximize your Splinterland returns with Quest Potions Splinterlands is a great game, and there's no doubt with its popularity will be around for at least couple more years, if not longer. Makes sense that we want to try to build our Splinterlands decks stronger, for either fun or profit. However, this is hard to do especially if your new player. Reason being you may only earn 1 treasure chest per daily quest. So in a 15-day season, you would earn 15 chests, and then the season reward. You may get lucky and scores cards, however your chances are slim. So let's 5X those chances! ## Meet your New Best Friend <center>  </center> In the splintered store you can buy a quest potion. With this particular potion when you complete a daily quest, you will get to have 5 extra treasure chests to open. Now in a 15-day season, you will get your normal 15 chests + 75 extra for a total of 90 treasure chests! Inside these treasure chest there can be anything including cards, DEC or other potions. --- # Costs vs Return An important thing to always ask yourself is the cost verse return in any lease transaction. A quest potion goes for 750 DEC. At the time of writing that would be 9.38 HIVE or ($4.16 USD) - at 15 days that is $62.40 ... That is not good. However, you can also use the in game "credits" to buy the potions as well. - 1000 credits cost $1 USD So for 15 days of Potions, you need - 11,250 Credits, - That many credits will cost you about $11.25 USD so a savings of about $51.18 if you bought it with DEC. BAM! # What can you earn from Chests? Let's figure you do five battles each day, and you capture on average +25 Dec per battle, you may earn around 125 DEC per day (1.538 HIVE // $0.67 x day) x 15 days = 1,875 DEC // 23.083 HIVE or $10.15 USD. (*these numbers are a time of writing, prices go up and down) Just battling and winning 5 times a day, you will be close to breaking even on the potion cost, HOWEVER this before you opened those at minimum, 90 treasure chests. In those treasure chests in a season, I personally feel you have a chance to hit at least 2 DEC jackpots of 2,000 DEC, and get 1 legendary card, and many other normal cards and some gold cards. This is a quest treasure chest winning from a new account using a potion and is about average on my openings. ### Rewards Bronze level  - 302 - DEC - DEMENTED SHARK - 38.324 DEC - PHANTASM - 41.974 DEC - Potion - 50 DEC - Total Earned = 432.298 --- - Potion cost = 750 - Difference = - 317 DEC --- ### Another Rewards (Gold Level) At gold you are getting 6 Chests, + 5 with a potion. This may be a little above average for what I normally open.  - 7 DEC - 2 Alchmey Potions - 100 DEC - 2 Leganday Potions - 100 DEC - ANT MINERS (GOld) - 1,574.014 (DEC) - ANT MINERS - 44.708 DEC - CHARLOK MINOTAUR - 107.300 DEC - CHARLOK MINOTAUR - 107.300 DEC - SAND WORM - 146.643 DEC - CHAIN SPINNER - 51.862 DEC --- - Total (about): 2,192 DEC // 26.98606272 HIVE // $11.87 USD --- 1 Season of potions (15 of them) costs the same as one day in winnings. So in one day, you can pay for the Season of potions. To me, that ROI is worth it, as over the next 14 days you have a high chance of x10 your investment. --- # Summary Splinterlands is a great game and it's a lot of fun to play. You can play for fun or for profit, but both of those scenarios you want to have a good deck of cards, and to build a good deck of cards you need to pay for a lot of packs, or win them, and the Quest potions are a good way to do it! You're totally right! When people ask me what is the minimum amount to start Splinterlands, I always say 17.5$. 10$ for spell book and 7.5$ for 11 quest potion (buy 10 and get 1 in additional). Because with this amount, the new players have higher chance to break the even in the short time. I created new account a week ago. I got 2k DEC in 1st daily quest and a Legendary card in 3rd day. So I already had the profit in 3 days :)
