**I just started** testing out Twitter because I'm reading *Crushing It!* and one thing I've found that is helpful there is the list feature. Basically you can add people you follow to custom lists you make, then their content will show up on those lists and the rest of your followed people are excluded. This is one feature I think steemit should pick up. It would allow you to find the content you want to read or comment on much more quickly while still viewing your followers instead of everyone like when we search a tag. This would allow us to follow way more people, as we could filter the feed down to something manageable instead of scrolling for a half hour through the sea of resteems and content that isn't your interest in the moment. Not only that, but communities could be built organically in this way. <center>_**Image From steemit.com itself**_</center> **Some other ideas** I think have potential to vastly improve the navigation and ease of use of the site are: 1. The ability to separate resteemed posts from the standard blog and organize our blog into categories or "playlists" similar to how youtube does it. (Example 1: One category for all of your crypto posts, one for all your lifestyle posts, one for your niche posts example 2: Categories for all resteemed posts, categories for all upvoted posts.) 2. The ability to organize your feed based on App used (sort by zappl, sort by steepshot AND Dtube, sort by all apps, etc.) 3. The ability to block specific user resteems from showing in your feed 4. The ability to mute users on your post's comments section to prevent spam(could create other issues such as censoring people) 5. The ability to search for combinations of tags (Ex: steemit & community) I really haven't gotten the chance to dive into Appbase or find out what the devs have planned, so if some of this is in the works let me know and I'll hype it! Haha. I am interested to see where communities go with navigation, maybe the devs have something amazing planned, but I sure think it would be a good plan to ask the people in the beta how their experience has been. Customer feedback is usually the best kind. If you feel like these ideas are good ones, toss me a resteem on this one. I'm really hoping steemit develops into an amazing platform that can rival the current platforms in ease of use while still providing a huge increase in value to users like we've already been seeing.

Great ideas, the current feed is really cumbersome and when someone resteems like 20-30 posts it is really annoying.

Couldn't agree more! Part of the reason Reddit was able to take off was bc of how much you could organize (even if it was elementary) and part of the reason I've tired of FB is how it's just a long random list of stuff the algorithm thinks I want to see. If we're going to embrace decentralization, need to embrace customization too!

This would really improve steemit by a lot man! I hope @ned can take a look at these ideas and implement them eventually. I think everyone agree we need some sort of filters in here, and the list feature could work as a sort of filter just as you said. We also need to take into account that steemit is very new compared to older sites like twitter or youtube, but doing this should not be very difficult for the developers. Cheers bro!
