Is it acceptable to use AI in doing your work?

Recently, I was reprimanded by my boss for using chatGPT in addressing grammatical errors. I know whole heartedly that I was at wrong here because the key points I raised is totally incorrect. Adding a fuel to my mistake, I used chatGPT as my basis of reasoning.

In my defense, I was just trying to prove something I truly believed is correct during that time (which, looking back in the hindsight was actually wrong). The only basis I could resort to support my claim is chatGPT.

After the incident, my manager and other colleagues adviced me to use chatGPT discretely and take precautions in relying on its answers because this chatbot is still made by humans, therefore still subject to human errors.

My key takeaway from the incident is to be more careful with how I respond by fact checking and validating first before suggesting something.

I'm a little bit dismayed by the incident because among all the things that I could be wrong, I got wrong in as simple as my grammar. As a writer, I take pride with my writing skills, I just simply love writing and perhaps, journalism. I figured that this is how I communicate best. But sometimes, I make mistakes too.

***Quick disclaimer, Ive never and will not ever used chatGPT in any of my blogs because these posts are personal to me.***

# Is it acceptable to use AI in doing your work?

Definitely! If AI could lessen non value adding work processes, then why not? As long as you double check and validate it's work.

Late last year, I attended a seminar, hosted by our own company, about the usage of chatGPT. I discovered that not only will it answer random questions, but it can provide charts, travel itinerary, budgeting and costing problems. How cool is that? I have yet fully explored this software but I find it interesting.

It's the same as with calculators. It's not the use of the tool itself - it's knowing how and when to use it. That't the actual skill, and that's what's at stake with ChatGPT and so on. 

We learned how to use calculators, but we also had to know how to do the math without. With LLMs, that's a different thing. They're bigger, more impactful. And many people will not be able to use them right, as you say - they won't double check. They won't question. They will follow blindly, and that will cause a lot of damage to the world, if left unchecked.

I also use chatgpt but only for calculations, hahahaha. Like sometimes my mind won't work especially when it comes to math, like for example

Aside from asking it this, I never tried it writing article for me. Like its a personal experiences why would we use it right. UwU. Anyways, chatgpt is cool, really useful too. But, I don't know, feels like using it at work is not just right. It's just me okay. I haven't really explore it, so i'm not sure how useful it can be to humans.
