When I first saw the mission to write about finance-related topics, this seemed a bit far from me, as these are not topics that I am passionate about. However, then I thought that, at the end of the day, (😜) we are all related to the topic in our day to day lives. 

When we are the ones who have the burden of the household, you have to dedicate yourself to the economy whether you like it or not. For my part, I kept track of the expenses that my husband and I do, based on our and the household as a whole. But...

Cuba right now has such a huge inflation process and even greater shortages, that keeping such a record makes me too depressed. It is true that right now is when it is most necessary to keep track, but I can't get over the fact that such simple and basic things cost a lot of money, so I am in a state of deep denial. 

A friend of mine said the other day, "we have lost respect for money" and I think that is partly true. People already put prices without analysis or anything, they just "throw" a number to see if you "bite", a number that may well make you empty all the cash you have in your wallet. It's a crazy thing to do. 

Last week, we went to make a binding of some images that we had to deliver, and what was my surprise, prices apart, to see that, in addition, ¡¡¡¡adadditionally !!!! The rates were much higher if you paid by transfer instead of using cash! I was horrified! Because I am also an entrepreneur and I don't quite understand the strategy they use to raise that number just because of the transfers. 

Come on, this is not a post of catharsis 😝, but, talking about economy in Cuba is a point and apart, besides that certainly complex and overwhelming. 
At the moment my earnings are behaving in a way that allows me to weather the storm with dignity. Of course, to manage it, both my husband and I have several jobs. We both have university degrees, but sadly in this we also have the inverted pyramid, where a peddler earns much more than an architect. True story. 

We both do photo and video editing, 3d modeling and design in your case, both furniture and architectural. So the entries are mostly for those "other" jobs we do, because the official salary is derisory. 

Now with the rewards I get in Hive I have also been able to contribute more to the family economy, because the HBD here is due to inflation itself, very valuable compared to the local currency. To convert it, I use some of the existing platforms in Cuba, although I recommend @hiveremesas for its speed and reliability, as well as very easy to use because it works with a Telegram bot. 

Some time ago I left my state job to start a life as an entrepreneur, so I could better manage my time and economy, especially time, because due to infertility consultations I had many absences and I am not the type of person who feels happy missing work. So, since I was having a hard time carrying the heavy load of responsibilities I had at the time, I decided to change my way of life.

It was a risky and thoughtful decision. I had the full support of my husband for it, and in the company they regretted my departure, but they understood it and today I have fixed-term contracts with them every now and then, doing the work that I really like the most. Although the area of marketing and advertising is not something that is highly promoted in organizations not directly related to the tourism sector. 

The economic part also influenced a lot. As a senior specialist and head of the audit team for quality, environmental and occupational health and safety systems, certified to international ISO standards, I had a terrible salary! Add to that 9 hours a day in an office. I swear that at that time my head kept thinking: "How to earn more money" ... it was a constant, it's not that I don't think about it today, but at that time it was really urgent.

As I am about to leave to prepare lunch, I finish by telling you that writing about economy, in this case My family economy, was not as complicated as I thought it would be.

Hive has been a new challenge for me, intellectually but also a support to my family from a monetary point of view. Cuando vi la primera vez la misión de escribir sobre temas relacionados con finanzas, esto me pareció algo alejado de mí, pues no son tópicos que me apasionen. Sin embargo, luego pensé en que, al final de cuentas, (😜) todos estamos relacionados con el tema en nuestro día a día. 

Cuando somos quienes tenemos el peso del hogar, hay que dedicarle a la economía te guste o no. Por mi parte, llevaba un registro de los gastos que hacemos mi esposo y yo, en función nuestra y del hogar en conjunto. Pero...

Cuba ahora mismo tiene un proceso de inflación tan grande y unas carencias aún mayores, que llevar ese registro me deprime demasiado. Es cierto que ahora mismo es cuando más falta hace llevar un control, pero no logro superar el hecho de que cosas tan sencillas y de primera necesidad cuesten un dineral, así que estoy en estado de negación profunda. 

Una amistad decía el otro día, "es que se le ha perdido respeto al dinero" y creo que en parte es así. Las personas ya ponen los precios sin análisis ni nada, solo "lanzan" un numero a ver si "muerdes", un número que bien puede hacer que vacíes todo el efectivo que llevas en la billetera. Es una cosa de locos. 

La semana pasada, fuimos a realizar un encuadernado de unas imágenes que debíamos entregar, y cual no fue mi sorpresa, precios excedidos aparte, al ver que, además, ¡¡¡¡además!!!! ¡Las tarifas eran muuucho mayores si se pagaba por transferencia en lugar de usar el efectivo! ¡Me horroricé! Porque también soy emprendedora y no acabo de entender la estrategia que usan para elevar ese número solo a causa de las trasferencias. 

Vamos, que esto no es un post de catarsis 😝, pero, hablar de economía en Cuba es un punto y aparte, además que ciertamente complejo y abrumador. 
De momento mis ganancias se comportan de forma tal que me permiten capear el temporal dignamente. Eso sí, para llevarlo, tanto mi esposo como yo tenemos varios trabajos. Ambos tenemos carreras universitarias, pero tristemente en esto también tenemos la pirámide invertida, donde un vendedor ambulante gana mucho más que un arquitecto. Historial real. 

Ambos nos dedicamos a la edición de fotografías y videos, modelación 3d y el diseño en su caso, tanto de mobiliario, como arquitectónico. Así que las entradas son sobre todo por esos trabajos "otros" que hacemos, porque el salario oficial es irrisorio. 

Ahora con las recompensas que obtengo en Hive también he podido contribuir más a la economía familiar, pues el HBD acá es debido a la propia inflación, muy valioso con respecto a la moneda local. Para convertirlo, uso alguna plataforma de las existentes en Cuba, aunque recomiendo a @hiveremesas por su rapidez y confiabilidad, además de muy fácil uso pues funciona con un bot de Telegram. 

Hace un tiempo dejé mi trabajo estatal para comenzar la vida de emprendedora, y así poder manejar mejor mi tiempo y economía, el tiempo sobre todo, pues debido a las consultas de infertilidad tenía muchas ausencias y no soy del tipo de persona que se siente feliz faltando al trabajo. Así que como me estaba costando llevar la gran carga de responsabilidades que tenía en ese momento, además, decidí cambiar mi modo de vida.

Fue una decisión arriesgada y muy pensada. Tuve el completo apoyo de mi esposo para ello, y en la empresa lamentaron mi partida, pero lo entendieron y hoy por hoy tengo contratos por tiempo determinado con ellos mismos a cada rato, haciendo el trabajo que realmente me gusta más. Aunque le área de marketing y publicidad no es algo sumamente potenciado en organizaciones no relacionadas directamente al sector turístico. 

La parte económica también influyó mucho. Como especialista principal y jefa del equipo de auditoria de sistemas de calidad, medio ambiente y seguridad y salud en el trabajo, certificados con las normas ISO internacionales, tenía un salario terrible! A eso agrégale estar 9 horas al día dedicada a la labor, en una oficina. Les juro que por esos entonces mi cabeza no paraba de pensar: “Cómo ganar más dinero” … era una constante, que no es que hoy no lo piense, sino que por aquella fecha era verdaderamente apremiante.

A punto de irme a preparar el almuerzo, termino comentándoles que esto de escribir de economía, en este caso Mi economía familiar no me fue tan complicado como creí que sería.

Hive ha supuesto un nuevo reto para mí, de forma intelectual pero también un apoyo a mi familia desde el punto de vista monetario. Igualmente intento hace crecer mi Hive Power pues el interés el la blockchain va más allá de poder extraer ganancias. Trato de estar bien activa, participando en eventos, como curadora de mi comunidad @hivecuba, y ahora se suma a esto la participación cada semana en la selección de los autores destacados para la iniciativa del Top Author y esta gran carrera creada por Leo Finance.
