I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, there currently is no STEEM deposit address on your steemit.com account page. I wrote a **[post](https://steemit.com/steemit/@kewpiedoll/why-and-how-i-invested-in-steem-directly-on-steemit-com)** on what I did in some detail (the "why" is first, so scroll down for the "how").

@jasonpay1    1st. Go to Poloniex, log in
2. on the upper right hand side, scroll over where it says 'Balance' then click on Deposits and Withdrawals
3. Scroll down to where it shows STEEM on the left and far right it will have Deposit or Withdraw, click withdraw
4. in the window that pops up, your address is your STEEMIT user name...in this case = jasonpay1  (don't need the @ sign)
5. enter the amount of STEEM to send to your Steemit account, hit send
5A. Look for an email for Poloniex (check spam box too) and click to confirm
6. Wait for it, then Power up.
