Watching this movie on my own is something that would never have happened, so I'm glad that someone else decided to watch it and it just so happened that I happened to be in the same room to pay attention to it. Everything about this movie was screaming at me not to see it because it just didn't have any elements that caught my attention, so seeing it because of someone else made me not miss the opportunity to see a very good movie, that is based on true events, has a very good cast, and is enjoyable from beginning to end for what it is, a good movie.

Dumb Money tells the events that took place between February 2020 and February 2021 (approximately), where Keith Gill becomes the center of attention by unwittingly leading a revolution against Wall Street because his hobby of investing in the stock market and publishing it on the internet not only generates his fame, but some credibility by investing in GameStop, which was thought to fail overnight, but it didn't, and by the time Wall Street realized it was too late for them to do anything.

Ver esta película por mi cuenta es algo que nunca hubiera sucedido, así que me alegro de que alguien más haya decidido verla y que por casualidad sucediera que yo estuviera en la misma habitación para así prestarle atención. Todo en esta película me gritaba que no la viera porque simplemente no tenía ningun elemento que me llamara la atención, así que verla por causa de alguien más hizo que no me perdiera la oportunidad de ver una muy buena película, que está basada en hechos reales, tiene un elenco muy bueno, y se disfruta de principio a fin por lo que es, una buena película. 

Dumb Money relata los hechos ocurridos entre febrero del 2020 y febrero del 2021 (aproximadamente), donde Keith Gill se convierte en el centro de atención al liderar sin querer una revolución contra Wall Street, pues su pasatiempo de invertir en el stock market y publicarlo en internet no solo le genera fama, pero cierta credibilidad al invertir en GameStop, que se pensaba que iba a fracasar de un día para otro, pero no fue así, y para cuando Wall Street se dio cuenta ya era muy tarde para que pudieran hacer algo.

Stock Market, finance, Wall Street, I would never in my life see myself deciding to see this movie, but I saw it anyway and now I am reviewing it. Something significant about the movie was the approach they gave it, because not only did they simplify things so that most people could understand everything that was happening, but they gave it a human approach, where people were the protagonists, where their lives were the ones being affected by what was happening, so even though money was still very important and everything revolved around that, it was the ordinary people who had the power and decided what to do.

That perspective they gave was my favorite thing about the whole movie because there were moments where they started talking in technical terms, making me lose all the attention I was paying to them. Still, luckily that happened a few times and only at the beginning, so they don't get to make it a habit, because if it had been like that, I wouldn't have paid attention to it and I would have spent it playing Wild Rift.

Stock Market, finanzas, Wall Street, jamás en mi vida me vería decidiendo ver esta película, pero de todas formas la vi y ahora le estoy haciendo una reseña. Algo muy importante de la película fue el enfoque que le dieron, porque no solo es que simplificaron las cosas para que la mayoría de la personas pudieran entender todo lo que estaba sucediendo, si no que le dieron un enfoque humano, donde las personas eran las protagonistas, donde sus vidas eran las que estaban siendo afectadas por lo que estaba sucediendo, entonces si bien el dinero seguía siendo muy importante y todo giraba alrededor de eso, eran las personas comunes y corrientes quienes tenían el poder y decidían que hacer. 

Esa perspectiva que le dieron fue mi cosa favorita de toda la película, pues había momentos donde se ponían a hablar con términos técnicos, haciendo que perdiera toda la atención que les estaba prestando, pero por suerte eso sucede pocas veces y solo al principio, así que no llegan a hacerlo una costumbre, porque si hubiera sido así, yo no le habría prestado atención y me la hubiera pasado jugando Wild Rift.

More than a week later I watched Ready Player One again and I couldn't stop comparing it to this movie, which is a very absurd thing to do, but if you think like me, you will surely understand my reasons for doing so. In Ready Player One, you know they are in a futuristic world playing for the jackpot of a virtual reality game, and here they are buying and selling in the Stock Market, so there should be nothing that could unite these two movies.

But no, they both have something very much in common, and that is the fact that at the end of it all, ordinary people, ordinary users, of anything in this world, can come together and defeat the big corporations that believe they have the power of the world, but when they realize that it is not so, they resort to illegal actions to continue living in a world where they have the power, only that the reality is different and they are not allowed to change it to their whim and benefit.

Más de una semana después volví a ver Ready Player One y no pude dejar de compararla con esta película, cosa muy absurda de hacer, pero si piensan como yo, seguramente entenderán mis razones para hacerlo. O sea, en Ready Player One se sabe que están en un mundo futurista jugando por el premio mayor de un juego de realidad virtual, y aquí están comprando y vendiendo en el Stock Market, o sea, no debería haber nada que pudiera unir estas dos películas. 

Pero no, ambas tienen algo muy en común, y es el hecho de que al final de todo, las personas comunes, los usuarios comunes, de cualquier cosa en este mundo, pueden llegar a unirse y vencer a las grandes corporaciones que creen tener el poder del mundo, pero cuando se dan cuenta que no es así, recurren a acciones ilegales para seguir viviendo en un mundo donde ellos tienen el poder, solo que la realidad es otra y no se les permite que la cambien a su antojo y beneficio.

Here is the trailer of the movie, which strangely enough is just as interesting as the movie itself. This is not a boring movie about investing in the market, about seeing how a chart changes daily, it is not a technical movie, and thanks to not being any of that it is a very good movie to watch and have a good time. It is a movie that should be judged neither by its cover, nor by its synopsis, or the topics it deals with because it surprises in the best way and it is worth watching in its entirety.

Aquí les dejo el trailer de la película, que extrañamente es igual de interesante que la película. Esta no es una película aburrida sobre inversiones en el mercado, sobre ver cómo cambia una gráfica diariamente, no es una película técnica, y gracias a no ser nada de eso es una muy buena película para ver y pasar el rato. Es una película que no debe ser juzgada ni por su portada, ni por su sinopsis, ni por los temas que trata, porque sorprende de la mejor forma y vale totalmente la pena verla completa.
