Lo primero que tenemos que tener para poder cocinar algo es la receta, llegué a pensar que era el lugar para cocinar o incluso los ingredientes, pero no, sin la receta no podemos hacer nada aunque tengamos todos. Desde el inicio del juego vamos a estar recibiendo recetas de todo tipo, y mientras más nivel de aventura tengamos, al hablar con los dueños de restaurantes en el juego, vamos a tener la posibilidad de comprar más recetas, después de comprar las recetas nos dirigimos al inventario y ahí la seleccionamos, le damos a usar y ya estamos listos para cocinar.

Una de las cosas que se añadieron en la versión 1.1, que fue la primera actualización del juego; en esta actualización añadieron la Olla del gourmet Adeptus, una cocina portátil que se desbloquea al alcanzar el nivel 5 de reputación en la ciudad de Liyue, después de desbloquearlo se puede fabricar en la forja. Hay que tener en cuenta que la olla se destruye, va a ser utilizada una sola vez, y si estás en el medio de una batalla se va a destruir sin dejar que la utilices.

Al momento de cocinar nos va a salir una barra donde vamos a tener parar el indicador en la sección indicada para lograr cocinar el plato de forma perfecta, si el indicador queda muy adelantado el plato va a quedar raro o regular, si queda en la sección amarilla va a quedar perfecto y se va a contar para la maestría culinaria del plato, y si el indicador queda después de la barra amarilla el plato puede quedar regular o quemado. Incluso hay un logro que nos lo dan cuando cocinados diez platos que queden raros, lo que vendría siendo platos crudos.
