## Preamble 

I am a father, a professional, a husband amongst many other things. Lately, I have been finding it difficult to keep track of quality content on steemit. Whatever time I get, I use it to make posts (which has come down from 1 post per day to 2 posts per week since February). 

**But I am also someone who hates to make excuses. Instead, I devise new ways to overcome the shortages on my part.**
I love engaging with steemit community because engagement is the heart and soul of this platform. Without engagement, we are all just a bunch of businessmen / businesswomen trying to grab the most share by any means possible. Right?

So with that prelude in mind, I have come up with a good plan on how not to miss out on posts that are posted by my followers / other steemians.

### Answer : Gina-Bot

Gina bot is the hottest trend on steemit these days and to be honest it has saved me a lot of hassle. What is Gina bot? it is your personal assistant on steemit. You can customise the settings on gina bot and she will notify you whenever your favourite author publishes a post or someone mentions your name or gives you an upvote or leaves a comment on your post. Seriously, there is a plethora of features on gina bot and I haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg yet. 

Mainly because my friend @ilyastarar has already written an [extensive guide](https://steemit.com/ginabot/@ilyastarar/how-to-use-ginabot-and-get-steemit-seamless-notifications-for-free) on subject. it includes all the features gina bot has to offer along with a very descriptive step by step guide on how to sign up and setup gina bot.

## How to get my attention for an upvote

By no means I am suggesting that I am such an Elite / Lord here on steemit that you need to jump hoops to get my attention. its just a statement. I have already mentioned that I miss out on most of the content specially written by my followers (Yes I like to check up on my followers too).

**SO THE SUGGESTION IS TO KINDLY MENTION MY NAME IN YOUR POST IN WHATEVER CONTEXT YOU WANT TO. If you think that mentioning my name will ruin the theme of your post, don't worry. Instead, write a comment on your post saying "hey @jbn, check this out." thats it. No need to make long statements or anything.**

### This way, whenever you mention my name, I will be notified by Gina bot that someone has mentioned me and instead of scrolling through huge pile of content, I will directly arrive at your post, read it and reward it. Simple, Right? 


## Be Warned Though...

I am huge advocate of original content on this platform. I hate plagiarism and I hate crappy posts. So if you mention my name in your post, make sure that it is free from plagiarism and that the content is actually original. Otherwise, instead of getting a nice 100% Upvote, you will receive a nice 100% Flag from me.
