Witness Report -- Hive und Hive Engine -- September

Hi all

just like already mentioned last time I am trying to write a witness report once a month about what has happened and is happening currently in Hive Engine and Hive.

## Hive Engine

Just on time for the witness report my **witness somehow stopped working**, starting from Block 10321938 hashes were divergent from what they should have been. I was not able to really find a cause for this, so I stopped the witness, dropped the DB, **and am currently restoring the MongoDB** in order to restart the witness as soon as possible.

Apart from that incident, everything was fine and the server was running well without hiccups.
I used this pause now to also upgrade the server to the latest software versions :)

## Hive

The witness server for Hive is running smooth, this is a quite big machine and therefore is facing no issues in processing the witness jobs. **Currently I am ranked 88th in the witness list for Hive**.

Hi zusammen,

wie ich schon angekündigt habe werde ich versuchen mehr oder weniger monatlich in kurzes Update zu den Witness Servern für Hive und Hive Engine zu schreiben. Hier also der Report für September.

## Hive Engine

Pünktlich zum Report heute hat der Hive Engine Witness ein paar Probleme gezeigt und letztlich ein paar Missing Blocks produziert. Ich hab mir das länger angeschaut konnte aber keine Ursache feststellen, nach Block 10321938 waren die Hashes divergent obwohl die Inhalte des Blocks identisch waren ..
Ich bin inzwischen dazu übergangen nicht mehr Ursache zu suchen sondern **direkt die Einsatzbereitschaft wiederherzustellen, immoment läuft das Restore der MongoDB**, sobald das abgeschlossen ist kann der Server wieder aktiviert werden.

Wenn ihr für mich als Hive-Engine Witness stimmen wollt dann geht das untere anderem auf der [coolen Page](https://primersion.com/witnesses) von @primersion, **das Token das hierfür benutzt wird heisst Workerbee**. Wenn ihr also ein paar Workerbee am Start habt könnt ihr sehr gerne ein Vote da lassen. Derzeit bin ich ich auf Rang 14.

## Hive
Der Witness Server für Hive läuft ruhig und ohne Fehler, hier gibt es keine größeren Baustellen zu berichten. **Derzeit bin ich auf Rang 88 in der Hive Witness Liste**

Hallo Jan,
ich bin mir sicher, die alten Hasen wissen alle was Witnesses sind und was sie machen, wie der Ablauf etc. ist und wie (und warum) man Witnesses (mit welcher Frequenz) wählen sollte, aber für neue Leute wie mich sind das tatsächlich Böhmische Dörfer. 
Vielleicht könntest du einen Artikel schreiben, der die ganze Sache mal genauer erklärt. Ich bin mir sicher, das würde viele interessieren, auch die, die so ungefähr wissen, was ein Witness macht und wie man euch unterstützt, wählt.
Oder gibt es da schon gute Artikel? Wobei, eine Auffrischung zu diesem Thema ist glaube ich immer besser, als alte Links.
