Well,  I felt like New Year's Eve went fairly well.   We were busy at work,  but I got off at a  reasonable hour. I didn't really do much. 

I participated in a Steemmonsters tourney.

 I drank a few beers and watched some TV.

That's all I really wanted to do.

 I have no idea where my roommates were.  They were probably out somewhere having a good time.  All I know is that they didn't come home last night at all.

The reason I mention that is because one of my work friends is sharing an apartment with a roommate.... and he came to work today with a black eye.

_That's a nice looking shiner._ I said.

It was. 

It was a perfect black circle around this gentleman's right eye.

He didn't do much last night either. He was drinking a few beers with his roommate when suddenly that roommate went over the edge.

Now in a situation like this I think it's prudent to call the police so that the other party goes,  at the very least,  to jail for the night.

Instead my friend just slept It off.

He did not want to send his buddy to jail and I can certainly understand and respect that.

However, this is a guy that punched you in the face a bunch of times,  you know?

It kind of reminds me of that movie called _Fist Fight._

 A pretty funny movie to be sure.

Getting punched in the face is not funny though. Living in an environment where you are never quite certain if some kind of physical confrontation is going to occur is not fun at all.

Now my friend has to go home and deal with the situation. Will they work things out? Will they be able to find a peaceful solution?

 I can tell you one thing. I wouldn't live with somebody that was putting my safety at risk just by being there.

Physical confrontations should not happen between adults.

Fighting is not how we solve our problems.
