How Often Should We Study the Word of God?

The simple answer? Every day.

We all know that our physical bodies need food daily to be able to survive, so also does our spirit man  need the Word of God to thrive. Studying the Bible is the only way we can feed our soul, strengthen our faith, and grow in our relationship with God.

The book of Joshua 1:8 says it so clearly;

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night...”


It's very important that we study daily because it will help us resist temptation according to Psalm 119:11;

 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."


It will direct our path and grant us us wisdom according to Psalm 119:105;


"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

It will renew our minds according to Romans 12:2;

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

It will help us grow spiritually according to 1 Peter 2:2;

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"


So, how often should you study the Word?
As often as you eat, as often as you breathe, as often as you want to hear from God. Consistency is key.
