Acts 22:16; "And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptised, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." When the Apostle Paul from Judaism realized that he was in a wrong religion he was called by the lord Jesus Christ. Whether you engage sooner or later, when the call for baptism is needed, you must be baptized, even without being engaged or married. Being baptized is to follow the will of God, while being married or engaged is to follow the will of the flesh, these are two different things because when you’re getting married you’re following the lust of the flesh. 1 Timothy 5:11; "But the younger widows refuse, for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ they will marry." So being baptized has nothing to do with being married or engaged. Engagement or marriage must not hinder the sacredness of baptism. 1 Corinthians 7:13; "And the woman which hath a husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.” So baptism and marriage are two different things from each other; a man member of the church can be a husband to an unbeliever or vice versa, so it is not a requirement to be baptized before marriage but it is a requirement for every Christian. --- Thank you for reading.
