God can control our fate if we are going to submit ourselves to Him. God has control over the fate of man if you submit yourself to Him but if you are going to disobey Him and control yourself, then your destiny will depend on your own actions or inactions.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12;

>11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believe not not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

If you do not choose the truth but instead have chosen unrighteousness, then God will allow you to be in delusion. If you prefer what is evil more than what is good, then God will give you the delusion you want, the illusion, the fable, everything that's not reality would be in you. It means that in disregarding God's control, you cease to be under His control,  that it is you that will make your own destiny, you are going to perdition by your own choice. After all the teachings and admonitions, and instructions were given to you and you choose a lie instead of the truth, then God will allow you to believe the lie you have chosen and be lost in the path of darkness. So submission to God will make Him to have control over you.

Proverbs 16:9

>A Man's heart deviseth his way: But the Lord directeth his steps.

It is the Lord that will direct our steps, we ourselves cannot make our paths straight, we cannot by ourselves, be righteous and good.

Jeremiah 10:23;

>Oh Lord I know that the way of Man is not in himself: It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Who will direct our steps? It is the Lord! And for Him to direct your steps, you have to submit yourself to Him.

James 4:7;

>Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
