It’s more than two months since I started working from home because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine. At first, I was enjoying the perks of working from home as I do love being at home as an introvert. But lately, I was feeling bored and I’ve been wanting to get back to the office. I’ve been thinking that two months of working from home is enough.

I want to have a normal work routine. I missed my daily routine in the office – sipping some coffee in my table before starting to work, eating heavy lunch meals on my lunch break and reading a book after eating, happy chit chats with my colleagues, and roaming around the airport whenever I feel bored and I wanted to visit my colleagues who are working on site. I already miss those routines!

Hopefully, I can finally get the necessary requirements for the returning employees tomorrow so that I can already report on site.

While I am not yet sure if I can return on site tomorrow or Tuesday, let me share with you some photos of the airport before the Enhanced Community Quarantine was implemented.

During these times, Mactan Cebu International Airport was no longer accepting domestic and international flights, so only airport staffs were only on the area.

On my last day of duty, I really felt odd as I pass by the silent hallways and airport vicinity as I was used to seeing lots of people inside and outside the airport before the pandemic. I don’t want to even walk alone because the silence is unusual and creepy. But I have experienced being alone as I pass by some of its vicinity on my last day of work and it gave me goosebumps.

But three weeks ago, the airport has started to slowly operate and accepts incoming international flights for OFW arrivals. And starting tomorrow, I guess they will also start to have incoming and outgoing flights as well. I’m not yet sure though. This would mean that at least, it will not be as silent as it was when the Enhanced Community Quarantine was initially implemented.

I’m going to take some pictures if I’m cleared to return to work on site. I’m excited to be back! :)
