I forgot to screen capture my reward cards from today (which were **Highland Archer**, **Rusty Android**, and **Goblin Mech**) but I forgot to mention yesterday's rewards in my last post, so the above image shows what I got yesterday.

## The End of the No-Spend Experiment
## 

After getting to the point where I had some doubles of cards that I really liked, I couldn't resist and I bought about 60 cents worth of cards so I could level up my existing ones. I used both the built-in Marketplace as well as one at https://peakmonsters.com/ and I found them both relatively easy to use. So the no-spend experiment has technically ended on the 4th day. However, one could argue that since I did manage to sign up two referrals and made around 2 STEEM (worth about 95 cents or so) that I'm still not "out of pocket." But then the floodgates were open...

I bought a Booster Pack via purchasing a BETA Token on Steem Engine. I'll make another post specifically about that but it cost me 3.58 STEEM, which at the time was worth $1.67. So in the end I'm down about 80 cents or so.... Unless you count the crypto rewards I will be getting for posting these blogs about Steem Monsters, but that would be counting chickens before they are hatched. My oldest post is about 4 days old and the maturation date is at 7 days. Also, for the purposes of that experiment I was not counting the value of the cards I currently hold, which from an automated estimate I found in the official Steem Monsters discord channel says is $22.64.

But any way you spin it I'm doing pretty good. And while it's interesting (at least to me) to look at the financials of these things, the best thing about this game is that it's actually fun to play! It also has a really great community. If you end up playing the game I encourage you to interact with the other players through Steemit, Discord, YouTube, etc... Also, this game can be a gateway for people to get involved with blockchain technology and especially dapps.
