A late night meal left our little one upset that I didn't share. Too bad, little boy. It was delicious.

I was tired all day--yawned a lot. The day started with some bagpipe chanter practice. I need to get this practice in during the mornings, or it doesn't get done--overwhelmed with other practicing. I met my two classes. Music History, we talked about song in the Enlightenment and listened to Mozart's Als Luise die Briefen and Reichardt's Italien. My Appreciation class had their first exam today. Several missed, but they had reasons. Will make it up later. I then got two hours of organ practice in followed by 45 minutes of piano practice. I taught a piano lesson to a student. Trying to make it more practical including score reading, improvisation practice, harmonization of tunes, that stuff. Also, he is working on Clementi C major sonatina and some Jazz pieces. Three choir rehearsals finished off the night. Pretty tired, and I have an early day tomorrow.

On the piano, I worked on some accompaniments that are coming up for a variety of different choirs and singers. Also worked on speeding up the final movement of Beethoven's Op. 10 No. 2--trying to get it to qn=140.

On the organ, I worked on Bach's BWV 618 and 619 for the coming weeks. Alain's Variations on a theme of Clement Janequin and Brahms' Herzliebster Jesu Chorale Prelude (going to pair them on a recital in a couple weeks). Also worked on Boehm's Prelude in D minor and Hindemith First movement of Second Sonata. Got page 5 partially sped up.

There's a tricky little passage in the fugue that requires you to play a note on the swell/rec. in the left hand at the same time as a note on the choir in the left hand while the right hand is finishing the subject on the choir.  All of the organs here have the great manual between the two.  My solution: catch the note on the great with the right hand while sliding it towards the swell/rec. and the left hand takes the subject on the choir.
