March 3, 2020--Practice Blog

Spent the day at home today.  I stayed up too late last night playing on the computer and this morning was rough.  Most of the day was spent practicing the piano.  I went from about 9 am until 5 pm with occasional breaks.  Felt good to put that practice time in to solidify some pieces and start others.  For dinner we did pizza and then watched some tv.  Going to bed early.

On the piano, I started practicing several works for a vocal recital coming up on April 3.  Student doesn't seemed concerned about it, but I am starting to worry about my part.  Two hours on those.  Then, I made sure that I could get through the Preludes and Fugues in C major and minor from Book 1 of Bach's Well-tempered Clavier.  Feel, for the most part, pretty good about them.  Learned the exposition for the first movement of Beethoven's Op. 69 cello sonata and the exposition for Brahms' Op. 120 No. 1 First movement of the Clarinet Sonata.  Finished the day solidifying and speeding up the second and last movement of Beethoven's Op. 101.
