**Content creation back then-**
Scouring through the pages of the newspaper as a kid, I wait for the weekend to get those few extra leaflets that featured comics, jokes, paintings and stories. A week's wait for that bundle of joy would get over in an hour or so, and would lead to another tedious and slow week of wait. Solution of crosswords, incomplete story plots, quizzes and so on needed a week for unravelling.
My childhood was spent demanding comic books, novels, newsletters or magazines as they were the primary source of all the information and entertainment. Else, I found solace in the answers of the questions I put to the elders of my family about anything and everything. From the queries about astronomy to astrology, my sources of knowledge were few and consistent, and true to their word. My world of information started and ended in a little space.
**Content creation now-**
As I saw my brother grow up, I expected him to do the same as I did. But something had changed. The Internet and technological revolution, the ample access to smartphone with Internet has lead to plethora of options being available to us. He does not know the painful wait of one week to find the answer to a question or read a comic strip.
He binge watches TV series, reads books on Amazon Kindle, and has access to all the answers of his curious question right at the click of his fingers. He is updated with the news all around the world at any point of time and notifications pop up to tell him about the same. Anything he'd like to read about, was not only available to him, but in millions of various forms, in millions of various opinions by different people.
**About content on the Internet-**
Internet is filled with 'content', any piece of information that can be expressed through some medium. During the earlier days, content could only be formed by publishers, authors and refined by editors. But nowadays, content is no longer restricted to reputable sources. It can be obtained first hand from the the primary source due to technology. Anyone can add value to that content, and give their opinions too.
This was a very good concept but soon, internet got filled with content without quality. There was a lot of confusion about what to believe and what not to. There are constant conflicting advices found all over the internet and the quality of the content has degraded when its quantity has increased.
**Content Distribution-**
As a blogger, I always worry about plagiarism, data theft and drive my attention towards the promotion of my content. Content distribution is a very important process of content creation but nowadays it has become quite commercialized and people are resorting to means that would increase the exposure of their content even though in the process the quality gets compromised. A lot of money is spent in promoting and distributing content and social media marketing and search engine optimization has preceded in importance to the quality of content.
