Brawl Report #67 - Winning over half of my matches for the first time in a while

[Splinterland](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/what-is-splinterlands) [Brawls](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-brawls) are a guild event where you can earn [merits](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-merits) and [SPS](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-splintershards-sps). This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. It was a nice brawl where I won more than half of my matches

## Brawl fights
There were 4 fights that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

I won this match easily because my opponent used a bunch of melee monsters during a [back to the basics](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-back-to-basics-ruleset) ruleset. After all, they don't have the other abilities to attack from the back.

This ended up failing though because of that [heal](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-heal-ability) from his summoner.

I won this match because of [bloodlust](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bloodlust-ability). It just took out that healer and it gave me enough time to kill my opponent. The [weak magic](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-weak-magic-ruleset) ruleset ended up helping me as my opponent had to get rid of my armor before he could damage me.

My bloodlust triggered quite a bit and that was able to give me enough damage to barely win the match. I was worried because of all the magic monsters.

You can find the sixth match [here](https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_UvCSKxoOlbHPD8Cvv31t&ref=jfang003). I lost this match it and I picked a bad lineup. My opponent just overcame me in damage and I didn't have enough damage.

It did a great job decreasing my opponent's damage and it let me kill my opponent before he could kill me. Using Arkemis for the [protect](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-protect-ability) did help my survivability. 

## Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 4 win and 3 losses. I didn't do so well but I didn't get completely wiped. So that is at least a relief. My rewards for the brawl were 3,524  merits and 62.419 SPS in the 4 star category. I forgot to visit the guild and take a closer view of my rewards but I think we did not rank last place. However, I still think the rewards weren't that bad. 

## Conclusion

My performance was bad again this time around was great and it looks like I was placed in the bronze brawls. When I am not being bogged down by those levels, I am doing way better in the matches. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the number of battles you participate in even in the 4 star category. I don't know which area I will fight next time but I am just glad that I had a great brawl for the first time in a while.
