Now your business name ready (part 1) and you have nailed the basic skeleton of your website (part 2), it’s time to start filling out the meat of the website that will attract people: while a lot of SEO work is done “behind the scenes” to give search engine the juice your website needs for consistent ranking, it’s also important to focus on the stage – what your human visitors will see. 

One surprising omission that a lot of businesses make is giving an incomplete listing: that’s to say that it’s hard to find a name, phone number, address, email, hours of operation, driving directions, images, social media links, video links, reviews, and more. 

While not all of these are necessary, the more you have, the more credibility your site has as a legitimate business: we’ve all seen those shady, fly by night sites that have no contact details and promise the world; your job is to show the world you are a legitimate operation. 

It’s also important to have a graphically appealing site with good images. People are visual people and despite what Mom might say, people do judge a book by its cover. Having an attractive site with relevant images can go an awful long way.

If you use Google Maps, be sure to have your indicator in the right place: if this is a little off, then it will frustrate people who are planning to visit: imagine having an indicator showing you a street off. It’s not so bad – or is it? Try to make sure that everything is on point when it comes to helping people to find you.
