Facebook is the granddaddy of social media these days, having comprehensively kicked its initial rival, MySpace, off its throne. Since then, it’s grown into a worldwide phenomenon with billions using it everyday and a huge advertising and marketing presence. No social media marketing strategy is complete without a FB profile, and it is arguable that no business can truly be online without their own FB page. 

Facebook is a place to build your brand and engage your fans, and the best way to do that is through leveraging videos – both uploaded and live – and curated content such as blog posts. Facebook studies have shown this works best for the audience, and that these types of post get the most interaction back. 

One quirk of Facebook that not everyone knows is that you should upload your videos directly to FB, as the company’s algorithm favors this over YouTube videos. Additionally, you’ll also get more shares and engagement. 

For blog posts and other curated content, you will want to use educational and entertaining posts that people want to read. It doesn’t have to be at the same time, and certainly mixing up what you post can keep your page fresh and interesting, which in turn engages people more and keeps them coming back. 

If you ever get stuck for ideas, you can also use Facebook’s great new feature, called Pages to Watch. As the name suggests, this is a fantastic tool that lets you quickly tap into what’s working right now, making it easy to take advantage of what people want for your own page.
