How Fast is Your Steem Power Growing?

One thing I've noticed after delegating some of my Steem Power to communities I trust and which in turn support me back through daily guaranteed upvotes is that my Steem Power delegation is somewhat increasing.

At first I thought it was all because of the price of Steem in the market. Like when the price of Steem goes up, one's Steem Power goes up and when it goes down, SP goes down along with it too. Just like how the price of Steem affects our post payouts.

<strong>Or so I thought!</strong> I was wrong. Very Wrong! It seems like our Steem Power is really growing every second and the rate at which it is growing is based on how much Steem Power one is currently hodling. One who has tens of thousands of Steem Power is gaining more than one who only has a hundred.

Weeks ago, I've stumbled upon this post from @fyrst-witness in which he and @yabapmatt introduced a <a href="https://steemit.com/something-usefull/@fyrst-witness/me-and-yabapmatt-made-a-cool-steem-wallet">NEW COOL STEEM WALLET</a>. But it's not just a simple wallet as it also shows in-real time the rate at which your Steem Power is increasing.

As an example I'm gonna show you mine:

In there you can see your current Steem Power, Received SP, Delegated SP, Voting Weight, Voting Power, Vote Value and one's current liquid STEEM and SBD in his/her wallet.

What's worth noting though is the numbers for Steem Power, they are increasing every 3-5 seconds. Someone like me who has around 750 Owned Steem Power seems to be increasing at a rate of <strong>0.000005 SP every 3-5seconds</strong>. Boy that's a lot of zeroes!!! But not really in a position to complain here. :)

Just for fun, the Steem Power I would probably get in a month just by simply owning 750 SP, assuming it increases every 5 seconds is:

Assuming my math is correct and it's all constant, then it seems I am gaining now 2.592 SP every month just by hodling 750 Steem Power. How cool is that?

Now compare that to the current largest Steem Power hodler @steemit hodling around 44.5 Million SP. It seems that account is gaining around 0.25 SP every 5 seconds. Computing how much they are getting in a month:

WOW! Now I finally somewhat understand what Ninja Mining is. :)

Never knew that it increases (probably because at my current SP it is negligible lol), maybe it mimics the way interests are earned when one forego the use of their funds and invested them into banks or other type of financial instruments. Another new thing learned and I think the topic for the next contest will be a cinch for you haha
