My sister told me that she likes to use a bath sheet instead of a bath towel when she steps out of the bathtub. Her birthday is at the end of the month, so I wanted to start working on her gift.  Bath sheets are much larger than bath towels and will wrap around her body very easily. I am really small, so a regular bath towel fits me perfectly. I used my magnetic hoop and then floated the towel on top of the hoop. I was able to secure the towel on top of the hoop without adding re-positioning adhesive spray. I also added water soluble stabilizer on top of the towel to prevent the stitches from sinking into the nap of the towel.  I am learning as I go with this new machine. I made sure that I had a full bobbin before I got started, and I also put in a brand new embroidery needle. My old needle was getting blunt because I made several of those sanitizer holders that stitched out on vinyl.  A new needle and a full bobbin sure did make a difference in the way that the machine handled the towel. It process was as smooth as silk.  I had no problems whatsoever, And even the backside of the towel looks great. I used tear away stabilizer on the back of the towel.  I am getting better and better at utilizing my machine. First I had to look up the sizes for "bath sheet" versus "bath towel" ;) We have similar sizes in Germany, only with kind of strange names: the bigger one is the Badehandtuch = bath towel, the smaller one the Duschhandtuch = shower towel. Perhaps you don't get as wet when showering, thus needing not as much fabric to get dry? I'm sure your sister will love the towel and the cute bee on it :) Have a !BEER

Are should have been "I". 😊 That was a typographical error. Embroidery machines require that you place stabilizer in a 2 piece hoop with the fabric that you plan to embroider on just as you would do with a manual wooden hoop. A newer hoop is magnetic which includes a one piece metal frame with magnets instead of a two-part hoop that you tighten and then attach to the machine. The magnetic hoop allows you to "float" fabric on top of the stabilizer and frame as opposed to inserting it between two parts, which works better for thicker fabric or towels. Adhesive spray lets me temporarily "stick" the towel or fabric to the stabilizer in the hoop so that it doesn't move while being sewn.

Thank you so much for clarifying. I have never worked with a embroidery machine and so I did not know you also secure the fabric in a kind of hoop. And adhesive spray... wow, there are so many tools I do not know. Here most people only knit or sew (only my perception? @akipponn @muscara ?) and crochet, weaving, quilting, or embroidery are very underrepresented and so the craft shops seldom have such cool tools.
