## Wednesday Walk Plenty Ducking And Diving Travel is not for the faint-hearted high speed along the freeways, something I did for many years and thoroughly enjoyed, not so much now! First stop in Doonside with a view from top of hill, where a delivery was needed giving me time enough to take a short walk to show hilltop views and mood. Fir-needle tree captured my eye once out of the car, with shades of green standing guard at the side of the road.  While monkeys display tails dangling from armco barrier, a muggy day still early views were not as good as I have seen from up here. Lived once upon a time in the block of flats on top of the hill, high winds persuaded me in no time at all to keep moving, find _[terra firma](https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/terra%20firma)_.  A glance across the hills laden with homesteads once wild with dense coastal growth, humans have arrived taking over much of the lands that stood barren for a long time.  Careful arranging allowed my son and I accomplish a few duties in one day _saving some fuel_, drive to historical hospital, what shocked me as the how big this is now. He had an arranged appointment with a surgeon at St Augustine in Durban, while I had to meet a person in Durban North region, we then set on homeward bound again.  The hospital was founded in 1892 and some of the buildings are listed buildings, still part of the original now surrounded by new. Establishment is so busy we were fortunate to find parking quite quickly, in a spot that afforded me some views while waiting for him. [Natal mahogany](https://www.krugerpark.co.za/africa_natal_mahogany.html) with edible seeds however poisonous outer coating, grows 25 metres tall making wonderful display in vacant land adjacent property, with one inside the hospital grounds.  Fiery flowers similar to protea bush gives a delightful view from above. Closest research revealed, is the Australian Firewheel tree, many similar plants between our two countries treated as an ornamental tree stands quite tall! _If you know the bloom please let me know...._  Looking down into Durban harbour ships with smaller vessels floating around between the buoys showing safe passage navigating the waters, green bank yonder is called Bluff area.  Cargo cranes on vessel stands tall on top, I have no idea what it's use is, dock loaded to capacity with containers making up the backdrop over the water.  Before leaving this Starling shimmering in the light on top of a mahogany tree started chatting away, I do answer while capturing grand stature like an overlord in the hospital grounds.  Driving down a hair raising event for me with traffic, over crowded region in housing and shacks we stopped briefly in Springfield park where I captured the last photo at a drive through, typical African sub-tropical scene with the birds on display. We did not linger long as area is known for hijackings and theft in this hotspot. A busy Wednesday, still followed by weekly shopping. Once in the flats you are able to see almost all the way up to Durban and down the coast to Scottburgh, road name is World's View, stunning up there until you experience high winds or extreme weather. Beautiful photos as always Joan, that fir-needle tree looks stunning! I just love the view of the harbour when going to St Augustine's Hospital. I was lucky many years ago when hospitalised, as I had a room with a view of the harbour many years ago. I hate driving in Springfield Park, it's just so busy, and the freeways with the trucks, and even potholes these days! We had a heavy downpour last night, nice and sunny today. Watched the ships come and go when I had my first son in Addington hospital with a window bed view, it was an amazing hospital forty years ago! Driving our freeways or back roads one has to be ultra careful with drivers and terrible roads falling into disrepair. Heavy rains lashed through with hail in places yesterday, this morning strong wind, clear blue sky and sunshine all day so far. Have a magic Wednesday as well!

She said today was Tuesday, then I started reading this post and saw ... >Wednesday Walk Plenty Ducking And Diving To which I said What the fluff and had to ask Mrs T what day it is today. Tuesday she said, I thought so too I said, we both had to ask Alexa! So I read the next wee bit and saw it was from a wednesday and you just posted today lol I think you were both conspiring to send me cuckoo! Although @dreemsteem's post is entitled chaos and that was brought to me! But love the walk, do you ever get a wee bit paranoid when out and about getting your camera mugged etc? Love the ships, being a coastal person they always grab my attention!

Would love to sit on dock again, not close enough, it had to do. Being out in Durban one learns to have eyes in the back of you head, we managed to get out do a lot and back in one piece again. Camera fits in my pocket along with my trusty protection mechanism, love getting out, would be far better if one felt safe. Sorry to confuse you, Wednesdays have become crazy days with much to do, caught the wave while I could.
