Mushrooms appear after rain or heavy dew, they are like miniature pharmaceutical factories with health benefits, with so many around dare you taste it or walk away?

Thousands of species, many look similar I am not  able to identify, I rely on a local who does know his fungi so will share photography without advice - [Mushroom Guru](https://www.mushroomguru.co.za/edible-mushrooms.html)

This post is all about photography link above to Mushroom Guru can be used if interested in knowing more. 

All mushrooms photographed in our area that have not been used in previous posts, with a dash of guilt not having visited the Fungi Folk here in Hive for quite a long time.

Mushrooms although out of my spectrum of knowledge, do get used in many drugs to assist people in many ways including depression, smoking, they contain nutritional value light on calories. Needless to say there are 'magic mushrooms' giving psychedelic highs if one know what to look for.

Not often you hear of people succumbing from eating mushrooms which always makes one feel the possibility of test driving a few might not be a bad idea. My late brother was more knowledgeable picking and eating from his garden.

Never picked mushrooms for the pot, it was interesting that they used an area where termites had been very evident just before the rains.

Joan, your photos talk to me, really beautiful captures. the one with Termites around, and the ones shot in the morning with dew on it, are my fave.
 
 those umbrella mushrooms (so they are named in Russian) are edible ones, their Latin id is _Chlorophyllum olivieri_. Probably. Very probably. But the 1st rule of Setero is: dont try if you not 100% sure of its name. So, probably I will not taste them and go away (ofc, after takind a dozen of pics with me, hehe).

if you want to live more 'off the land', it is a good move. (in post-apocalyptic sci-fi novels I read, the folks who survived live off the fungies a lot. they live in subway tunnels, hiding there from radiation and mutants,  and plant mostly fungies and pigs, and they even manage to create sort of a tea, from fungi! ofc this is fantasy... but it actually has some reasons to it :P
