Nice open space for the horses to sprint and keep fit, never visited here previously. Stables and horses being run early mornings was a sight we used to have at Clairwood, alas that is now gone. Thanks for sharing amazing gardens and information about this spot !BEER

Hi, @joanstewart! It's well worth a visit and beautiful to the horses sprinting. Even when they are not, it's still nice to go out there and just enjoy the peace and quiet and the beauty of the area. I love horses (all animals for that matter...lol) but I'm not really into horse racing (just love watching the horses while they are training. Seeing the horses run early morning in winter months, so frisky loving every minute, I passed every day for fifteen years working close to [Clairwood which was sold off in 2012](https://www.sportingpost.co.za/horse-racing/clairwood-racecourse/), another green space gone forever. We went to walk around the gardens on a couple of occasions, only ever watched the racing twice being by invitation. Have yourself a wonderful day, nice to see your outings. !LUV

It must have been a beautiful sight looking at the horses in the mornings. I mentioned to my wife what you said about Clairwood and she knew about it, reminding me that we did know about it.
